The city of
Las Vegas and Ward 6 Councilman Steven D. Ross encourage all
residents to view the final plan for Floyd Lamb Park and the
1,300 acres of land adjacent to the main park area.
The open house
will be held on
Monday, January 29, from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
at the
Silverstone Golf Club, Clubhouse Ballroom, located at 8600 Cupp
Drive.
"This open
house has been scheduled to give residents the opportunity to view
the final plan for Floyd Lamb Park,” Councilman Ross said. “The
input from the area citizens at previous open houses and the survey
participation was invaluable to the process and is reflected in the
master plan.”
Floyd Lamb Park, located in northwest Las Vegas, is anticipated to
be transferred to the city of Las Vegas from the state of Nevada in
June 2007. The city of Las Vegas has entered into an agreement with
the state of Nevada to accept ownership and responsibility for Floyd
Lamb State Park. Preparation of the master plan is a requirement in
order to complete the transfer of ownership from the state. The park
is located within the 2,089 acres of state and federal land
identified for a cultural park area in the city’s Northwest Open
Space Plan.
In addition to
the input and opinions from the public, the city also formed citizen
and technical advisory groups to contribute to the planning
process.
