Colleen Kestel, Manager of the Mandalay Bay Wedding Chapel, is an Italian-American woman that is proud of her upbringing and understands it has helped her in reaching her career goals.

The wedding chapel Kestel manages in the Mandalay Bay Hotel is not for the quickie stereotypical weddings Las Vegas is known for. The bride and groom hold their wedding ceremony here with a planned service. The chapel offers a number of great packages running $675.00 - $2,595.00.

“Some of our higher end packages include a honeymoon suite for a night, breakfast in bed, dinner for two, spa and facial treatments for the bride and lots of photography,” Kestel said.

The staff under Kestel takes every precaution to make the nuptials one to remember. “We do pretty much everything for you. This is a more contemporary wedding chapel. We do a little more personal service for our customers. We try and personalize it a lot. We offer a coordinator to help the bride and groom get what they want.” Kestel said.

Wedding Chapel Staff

The staff (from left to right), Arriel Owen, Alyssa Estrada, Sabrina Angelino, Marcela Higuera, Richelle Perez, Ada Casanova, and Melanie Hakaim surround Colleen Kestel inside one of the chapels

The staff of seven wedding coordinators, one receptionist and one administrative assistant work hard to make sure all the little details is not missed. That is why Kestel is proud to say they are the best. “We definitely have the friendliest staff. All the girls here create a relationship with the couple. We provide a very high quality of customer service, and we get letters thanking us for the great weddings we create,” claims Kestel.

The wedding chapel has two ministers, one of which speaks Spanish, and the other one is a Rabbi. The peak months for weddings at this chapel are April through November, and Ada Casanova, Wedding Coordinator, only has praise for her boss and the women she works with. “It is fabulous. This is the best place in the world to work. We all get along so well,” Casanova said.

Kestel knows laughter is a great stress reliever and being passionate about her career and home life is important. The single mother of one will teach her child the same ideals and responsibilities that her parents did. “I try to be successful because my family came to this country for that reason. So that their children and grandchildren can learn and live the American dream,” she said. “I treat all my employees like family, and that is because I come from a strong family of Italians,” she added.

A Note from La Voce Publishing Co., we want to make the year 2007 more about the Italian-American woman and her achievements in the business world. Whether it is financial, political, educational or social, women are making more strides in the United States, and Italian-American women seem to be leading the way.
