I split up with my husband of 23 years a little more than a year and a half ago. We sold our house, I quit my job of 20 years and I moved to the Las Vegas area where I didn't know anyone. I got a job in the payroll dept. of a casino, I hadn't gone out on one single date until about 3 months ago. We had a wonderful time that night, we talked, we laughed and we flirted a lot. It was the best time I had in a very long while. To my surprise, he never called me. Even though I did really like this guy, I'm pretty sure he's just not interested. I'm just wondering if there's anyone else in my future and if so, when?
Any help would be great.

My cards say that you’re still healing from the break-up with your ex-husband (and understandably so.) Twenty-three years is a long time to be with one person, so please be a little patient with the dating process, especially here in Las Vegas!
There’s a couple of social clubs that I think have the right idea in mind for people to connect. I’ve met the folks connected with Get Out Las Vegas (www.getoutlv.com) and they seem to have the right idea about getting single people together. I like that they do an in-person screening process for the new members, and yes, there is a membership fee. However, I think it would be worth checking them out.
Also, I would recommend taking up an activity that you might like and that men also like. Golf, hiking, and tennis immediately come to mind. Or, you might even decide to learn to play “live” poker. Ask for Willie at Fiesta Henderson in the poker room for free poker lessons each Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 2pm. The Poker Room at Red Rock offers free lessons each Friday and Saturday at 5pm and 6pm. The Silverton offers free poker lessons daily at 1pm. (call to confirm at all the locations before you go.)
Your “power” month for romance is July. My cards say you’ll be married by July of 2009. So yes, someone is out there for you…you just have to put yourself in the path of that someone.Thank you for writing! Mona
