My Hope Chest is a non-profit organization that steps in for those women who do not have the insurance or funds to pay for life-changing breast reconstruction. The organization was founded by Alisa Savoretti, a former Las Vegas showgirl and breast cancer survivor.
Diagnosed with breast cancer at a time when she was uninsured, Savoretti too found herself unable to pay for reconstructive surgery after her mastectomy. Only after she returned to a dancing job minus one breast that provided health insurance was she able to have the surgery. Still, the lack of available financial assistance for others to have the surgery bothered her, and she decided to create My Hope Chest.
Working with a dedicated, volunteer team of surgeons, counselors and therapists, My Hope Chest helps uninsured and financially challenged women return to a normal life, feeling complete and confident. The support organization believes that the surgery is truly "the final step in breast cancer treatment."
My Hope Chest is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that is fully funded and supported by donations and volunteers. To make a tax-deductible contribution, send checks to My Hope Chest, 3395 S. Jones, #298, Las Vegas, NV 89146. For more information on My Hope Chest, call (702) 579-0799 or go to www.myhopechest.org.
