HOW DO YOU become comfortable, persuasive and electrifying as a public speaker?

The answer is to work on your presentation skills and believe in self. Your ultimate goal is to become persuasive, inspirational and charismatic with your presentation.

Practice, find your comfort zone and apply discipline, these are the first steps to improving your public speaking skills. Some people are natural public speakers and presenters; others must have the discipline and perseverance to work at it.

To improve in anything takes practice. The art of public speaking is no different. To dominate any fears and sharpen your skills you must practice, practice, practice. Public speaking is a goal that is achievable. As a novice get involved in charity work, utilize any opportunity to speak in public; having little experience is not an excuse. If you are knowledgeable on certain topics and are requested to share the knowledge; one way to obtain experience and practice is to volunteer to speak at church functions, teach a class at your local community college or present at local non-profit functions. Always picture yourself in great detail, include in your self-visualization the clothes you will wear for each presentation as well as the audience you are speaking to.

Although public speaking skills are essential, as a public speaker, you must first visualize yourself as a gifted speaker that creates the atmosphere for people to listen and enjoy what you have to say. Negative thoughts have no place in your mind; one must first believe in self. Never doubt or belittle yourself or your ability to be a public speaker. Simply think to yourself that you have the ability and an extraordinary message for each audience. Visualize that your listeners will be inspired by and attentive to you and your presentation.

Ultimately, you must, regardless of your goal, create a vision for yourself so powerful that no one can stop it from happening. Believe in yourself; it will only be a matter of time before your vision of being a successful public speaker becomes a reality and all your fears vanish. Also, create within yourself a vision of being a powerful and persuasive presenter. Your success and that of your presentation will be a direct result of your vision.

In conclusion, when you change the way you visualize yourself as a public speaker, the speaker your audience sees and receives will also change.
