Local dining spot, JR's Place (Durango and 215) continues to build a serious following of industry locals pining for stand-out Italian fare off-strip. This past weekend, while the Strip was fight night crazy, locals were hanging out with JR's charming owner/chef Susan Rispoli while enjoying her phenomenal fare. Even hip hop superstar Wyclef Jean made the trek, via a Wynn Las Vegas limousine. Other notables included the anchorman Jim Snyder and the News 3 team, ironically dining mere feet away from the folks from FOX 5. ONE Global's do everything gal Wendy 'Plus 1' Yu enjoying a Right Gin cocktail with Bouchon's Brian Howard. Former Running Rebel and Harlem Globetrotter Warren Rosegreen pulling out some tricks for Rispoli's grandson Nathan and JR's regulars Marc Jay and Chad Weiner making post-pool party visits for some much needed nourishment. If you haven't stopped by, what are you waiting for, you're obviously in the minority. Next up for JR's Place will be a series of wine dinners and a new wine menu highlighting unique, boutique selections.

On Tuesday, May 15th from 4 - 8pm the public is invited to attend the inaugural Summerlin Strawberry Festival at the farmers' market at The Gardens Park. The festival will feature a variety of family friendly activities that involve strawberries, including a toss, race, recipe competition, chef demonstrations by students at Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts Las Vegas and even a shortcake-eating contest. For more information on the farmers' market, visit www.lasvegasfarmersmarket.com or call 702.562.CORN.

In a scary incident over the weekend, a man was killed at the Luxor Hotel parking garage after an apparent bomb stuffed into a backpack was placed on his car. Obviously the details on the story are really hush, hush. But, from what we hear the man was actually a Luxor executive targeted by an ex-employee. Thank goodness this story hasn't landed the dirty 'T' word tag.

We've been able to confirm the rumors that TAO Beach will be launching their Sunday evening promotion brilliantly titled 'Sunset Sessions' on Sunday, May 20th. We've also heard that one extremely well known local scene-ster has signed on to help push the promotion to influential industry locals. The promotion will feature "sexy, vocal house music" and is aimed towards popular sunset parties that are a staple in party hardy cities like Ibiza.

In other TAO Beach news, as of this Saturday night, the outdoor, poolside venue will be open at 10P as an extension of the nightclub throughout the summer months, weather permitting. As much talk as TAO Beach is getting during the day, people are raving about how the venue looks at night.

How great is Tracy Lee looking these days? "I've been busting my ass in the gym," said the reigning mother of nightlife photography and owner of Napkin Nights, the popular photo driven website. Well you go girl, there isn't anyone that is going to hit more pool parties this summer than you!

Las Vegas Food & Beverage Magazine will be holding their first annual "The Good, The Bad, and The F-Ugly" Golf Tournament at Siena Golf Club in Summerlin, next Tuesday, May 15th with Las Vegas' most influential people taking part in the unique event where almost anything goes…There are limited spots available on the LVFBM team - and no cost is required!
