MY MOTTO IS "Love is The Energy of Life." I do live my life keeping this in my mind, and behaving with love as often as possible. Many of you have emailed me asking how do I do it? How can you remain loving and caring despite the trials and tribulations we all suffer? Your emails are sad but the good news is you've taken a first step. You've shared your needs and you've expressed hope that there are answers to your dilemma.

Here are the lucky seven; the most practical and effective behaviors and attitudes which are extremely powerful and will truly create positive differences in your daily life.

  1. Accept your reality without judgment and look at the positive aspects. Your friends, your family, your environment, your pleasures. WRITE a list of these things and look at how many aspects of your life are STILL positive.

  2. It is true that any form of volunteering will create a sense of power and a sense of fulfillment in you which is unparalleled. Work with one child in a school, read a book in the children's section of the library, go to a senior citizen home, a hospital, a soup kitchen.

  3. Do NOT allow a silly moment to affect your life. If you are insulted, or upset just say thank you. Do NOT allow it to affect you. Do NOT give the abuser the satisfaction of being upset. Disarm with a thank you and a smile. Insults fester in your soul and create poor health if you allow it to invade you.

  4. Write an autobiography. Remind yourself of all the joys you've experienced, all the pleasures of your past. You'll smile, feel joyful as you remember, and the best part is that you will leave a wonderful legacy for your children.

  5. Use the word CANCEL EVERY TIME you have a negative thought. EVERY TIME you judge someone, complain, compare, become angry—SAY CANCEL. Believe me, it works. Be aware at all times of the toxicity created by the negative thoughts, words and behaviors. CANCEL them out of your life.

  6. Develop a generosity of spirt. Compliment at least ten people a day. Laugh at jokes, applaud at shows, smile at the world, shake hands, hug, kiss, and express gratitude to those you love.

  7. Put a Smile Behind Your Eyes. If you tell yourself to do this often, your will be amazed at how your face will express joy and your entire world will be lighter and brighter.
