How to Live the "Feng Shui Way"

1. Determine your belief and Live it to the Fullest:

When we treat ourselves and our fellow humans equally and when we understand we are all One and connected, we achieve a higher plane of understanding where souls can roam free—a true sense of spirituality.

2. Activate the Wisdom or Spirituality Corner in Your Home:

This is the area situated in the left front corner of your house in line with the front door. It represents the number 8 and has a natural earth energy. In order to have the energy circulate better and achieve balance and abundance in this area, use the colors blue, green and black in paint, carpet, accessories, paintings and other adornments. This is a great area for a library, study room, or office.

3. Balance knowledge of the Self with Relationships:

In the Bagua or the Feng Shui octagon, the wisdom or knowledge area represents knowledge of Self. It is diagonally in line with the relationship corner. Because the wisdom or knowledge area is aligned with the energy from the relationship area, this part of your home can only be at its full strength when the two areas—knowledge of Self and relationships—are balanced.

4. Embellish Your Entry:

When decorated with taste, your front door area can add to your spirituality, create a sense of protection and act as a welcoming sign to people. For example, you can add an angle to your front door, hang a small crystal above your door to "lift" the energy or add a garden Buddha statue in your entryway.

5. Be Creative While Correcting Problems:

If you have multiple doorways in the wisdom area, this creates a pass through feeling. Do not obstruct doorways but instead encourage the eye to go to another, pleasant, quieter place instead of going straight through to the next door. Bring in warm colors to alleviate a 'dead' feel.

6. Adjust Your Bedroom:

Reflect your spirituality in your bedroom, as it is what you see the moment you get up and is the last thing you see before you sleep. Combine a sense of protection with your beliefs and make it your sanctuary.

7. Improve Your Scope of Vision:

Adopt the widest possible views in life and be flexible and tolerant. Grandmaster Lin Yun, the founder of modern Feng Shui, believes flexibility to be the most admirable trait in a human as it allows us to learn and expand. To this extent, try introducing a minimal water element in the wisdom area to activate the earth energy and prevent it from becoming stagnant.

Remember, Feng Shui is a matter of balance of the whole, not just the part. So step back and make sure the overall harmony of your home or office is still intact. Enjoy!!!
