LAST NIGHT FELLOW columnist Jeff Starr and I attended the 2007 Mrs. United States Pageant, held at the Silverton Hotel. We had a great time both before, during the award ceremony and out by the pool.

Jeff and I had no complaints what with being surrounded by 54 beautiful ladies (54 you ask... don't forget Guam, the Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico and the District of Colombia) in the small confining quarters of the Mermaid Bar, while their proud husbands mingled in the casino.

All of the 10 finalists had a more realistic and obtainable goal than their teen to 20 something counterparts, the Miss America contest contestants.

Though no longer in their teens or twenties, some of the beautiful married ladies of the 2007 Mrs. United States Pageant, could surely have passed for their early 20s.

The winner of the 2007 Mrs. United States Pageant was a beautiful lady from my own wife (VCO publisher, Marleen Marino) and fellow columnist Jeff Starr's home state of Michigan, Stephanie Hunt.
