This past weekend, rockers Sloth, Envy and Lust of the local group The Deadly Seven were spotted being thrown out of a private event at Simon Kitchen & Bar (Hard Rock Hotel) honoring former Guns and Roses guitarist Slash. After crashing the event, the rockers berated Slash before being escorted out by security. Last Sunday night, bar professionals from around the city gathered to compete in the qualifying round of the Cocktail World Cup. Contestants included Anthony Alba (Rio), Cameron Bogue (Freelance), Amanda Gager (Stack), Gaston Martinez (Nora’s Cuisine), Peter Medina (Voodoo Lounge), Brian Mongeon (BOA), Eddie Perales (Rio), Dillon Reese (Beauty Bar), Eric Smith (BOA), and Raymond Speight (Parasol Down). A few of these lucky bartenders won a trip to New Zealand to compete on behalf of team USA at The Cocktail World Cup!
Very quietly and with little celebration, the New Frontier closed its doors this past weekend to make room for a new resort property from El-Ad, the owners of New York City’s legendary Plaza Hotel.
