Liberace Foundation

The mission of the Liberace Foundation is to help talented students pursue careers in the performing and creative arts through scholarship assistance.

The Liberace Foundation for the Performing and Creative Arts was founded in 1976. In the first year after its creation, The Foundation sponsored a series of four concerts to benefit the University of Nevada at Las Vegas Music Department Scholarship Fund. The success of this early venture underscored the importance of establishing and maintaining a regular funding program in support of the country's thousands of promising creative artists. WSOP: Who Are They?

"WHO ARE THEY" was the question of the day this past Tuesday when the nine final table participants were announced at the 2007 WSOP $10,000 buy-in main event.

As was the norm for all of the 2000’s most of the players at the main event final tale were unknown to the poker world, but world was the definitive word, as this year’s future millionaires (all final table gladiators were guaranteed at least a million dollars US!) were from all over the globe, Two were from the UK, a player from Russia made the finals, one from Canada by way of Vietnam and a final table 1st; the continent of Africa was represented.

New Deer Springs Way Section Between Buffalo Drive And Rosinwood Street
Opens Monday, July 23

A city of Las Vegas road realignment project in the Centennial Hills area is nearing completion. The new, realigned Deer Springs Way section is between Buffalo Drive and Rosinwood Street and is scheduled to open to traffic on Monday, July 23.

The improvements were undertaken by the city of Las Vegas Department of Public Works. The new road section will provide access to the soon to open Centennial Hills Community Center and will also provide motorists with improved access to the 215 Beltway. Funding for the $1.6 million road improvement project is provided by the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada. The engineering firm for the Deer Springs Way alignment project is Stantec Consulting Inc. The contractor is CORE Construction.

The 98,000 square foot Centennial Hills Community Center is located at 6601 N. Buffalo Drive, adjacent to the new section of Deer Springs Way. Grand opening festivities for the center are planned to take place at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 28.
