Mortgage Lending Acting Commissioner Appointed

 
     
     
 
     
 

MENDY K. ELLIOTT, director of the Department of Business and Industry has announced the appointment of Las Vegas resident Nancy Corbin, deputy commissioner, as acting commissioner of the state Department of Business and Industry's Mortgage Lending Division. Former Commissioner Scott Bice's retirement became effective today [AUGUST 1, 2007].

The Mortgage Lending Division licenses and regulates mortgage bankers, mortgage brokers, mortgage agents, escrow agencies and escrow agents.

Corbin has served one year as the deputy commissioner of the Mortgage Lending Division. For the previous nine years, she was deputy administrator of the Nevada Housing Division, where she has also worked as an administrative loan officer for 17 years.

"Nancy Corbin's experience supervising and managing the Mortgage Lending division will provide for the continuation of service and a seamless transition for staff during the period I will be reviewing candidates for recommendation to the governor," Elliott said.

Corbin began her acting commissioner appointment today, August 1, 2007.
