The Shallowness of Hillary Haters

APPARENTLY HILLARY CLINTON is making some headway. The hate statements and the emails are emerging more often along with the polling that says the former First Lady and current Senator is making headway with voters.

A Wall Street Journal/NBC poll says Clinton has increased her lead over Barrack Obama for the Democratic nomination.

I could have told you the poll results based on my friends who are Hillary haters.

One of them sent me an email describing the things the Clintons gave us—such as teaching our kids about oral sex. Granted, the lurid affairs need to be admonished. However, it wasn't Hillary that had the affairs.

The email talks about the number of indictments of Clinton advisers. Sure, there were problems. But every Administration has its bad apples from Nixon until present. But this email fails to mention that.

Then the email enters the "lie zone" offering the usual GOP extreme lies, saying that Bill Clinton forced the Israelis to release Mohammad Atta from prison before he helped take down the Twin Towers. As I've mentioned before on this blog and in my book, it was not Mohammad Atta, but Mahmoud Mahmoud Atta, a Jordanian who had nothing to do with 9/11 and is 17 years older than the 9/11 terrorist.

And then another Hillary hater told me that he regrets his vote for Bush, but he will vote for Fidel Castro before he votes for Hillary. Really? I thought Alec Baldwin's statement of leaving the country if George Bush was re-elected was bad enough.

And then I hear about the details of the WSJ/NBC poll. Chuck Todd of MSNBC said voters are still unsure of Hillary's personality. Apparently she is not soft or friendly enough. If that's true, then we're in trouble as a nation.

Let me review some past history. We currently have a president that everyone wants to have a barbecue with, but nearly 7 out of 10 of us don't want as our president any more.

Why don't we want a president that is smart and tough who knows the issues?

Some disclosure here. I am not supporting Senator Clinton. I endorse no one; I give no money to any campaign. Plus, I don't have to vote until February in the Nevada primaries, if I choose to do that.

But right now, in my opinion, Hillary is the lesser of all the other bad choices. David Brooks, the conservative columnist from the New York Times, has documented a number of times Hillary's sophisticated and mature view of Iraq and other Middle East issues.

Bash her on higher taxes or health care reform. She may actually hurt the stock market and corporate profits if she gets elected. Fine. But stop the distortions. The more you distort, the more people might vote for her.
