DELICIOUS!!!

THE ROYAL PERSIS is a new Mediterranean and Persian restaurant that has opened its doors in the valley with fabulous food from the Golden Crescent area of the globe. The cuisine is just as golden as the region from which it originates. The food is not the typical menu fare that one can get in an ordinary Mediterranean/middle eastern dining place. Its savory taste is very unique and DELICIOUS!

When we arrived at the restaurant, we realized that this was not your typical greet and seat place. The manager, Arthur (former manager of the Four Seasons, Beverly Hills) gave every guest a warm and personable greeting making one feel as if they were entering his home for a special dinner and experience.

Arthur helped us choose and sample a variety of the menu's choices making it easier for us to understand what the dishes were composed of and his explanations were very helpful. We began our gourmet journey with a variety of appetizers in every category. The Kashk-E-Badeemjan—fried eggplant with Kashk (whey) was flavored with sautéed garlic and mint. A new delight to our palettes, we enjoyed this one immensely. This was followed by Dolemeh, which is a dish of cooked grape leaves that are filled with ground beef, rice, tarragon, split peas, green onions, basil, parsley and fresh herbs. This truly prepared us for the feast to follow.

The salads were great. We sampled the Persian Salad (Shirazi), which is a combination of fresh cucumbers, tomatoes, parsley, onions, and topped with the Royal Persis house dressing (olive oil, fresh lemon juice, black pepper).

Rice is a special treat at this restaurant. We actually sampled all four offerings: Albalo Polo, a basmati rice that is mixed with black cherries and served with broiled chicken. This was our favorite, and left a big smile on our faces as we indulged in its savory taste. Other rice offerings include the Badhali Polo, basmati rice mixed with dill weed and lima beans and is served with a boiled lamb shank; Zereshk Polo, basmati rice mixed with barberries and saffron served with boiled chicken; and completing the array on our display plate, was Adas Polo, a basmati rice mixed with raisins, lentils, dates, and saffron served with boiled chicken. Any of these choices can be a meal in itself for a lighter selection.

They have varied stews that are served with beef. The chicken entrées; are quite good, especially the boneless chicken kebab, which is a delicious, marinated charbroiled, boneless chicken breast. A rack of lamb was prepared that had been marinated to a succulent state for over 24 hours. The beef dishes also include a superb Shish Kebab, which contained large chunks of charbroiled filet mignon marinated in the Royal Persis' special house sauce.

For an ending that is absolutely delicious, try the Baghlava. It will make your palate sing.

The Royal Persis also has a special priced lunch menu that can be delivered or catered to your specifications.

Located at 2790 East Flamingo Road, it is easily accessible from the strip, the Convention Center, business, downtown or your own home.
