Thinking back, I guess I would consider myself a "Flower-Child of the '60s and
'70s." I wasn't lucky enough to attend Woodstock, but I certainly enjoyed the
music of that era. I am originally from Detroit, and was weaned on "Motown." I
grew up listening to Marvin Gaye, Ben E. King, the Supremes and Temptations, but
when Janis Joplin, Joe Cocker and groups like Jefferson Airplane and Crosby, Stills & Nash started popping up, and with the Vietnam War growing more and
more unpopular, the "Make Love, Not War" mentality of the youth of that generation exploded, with me
along for the ride.
It's hard to believe that Woodstock was thirty-eight years ago looking at these videos from that time makes it seem like it was yesterday!
Below is a Tribute film to Woodstock, a wonderful collage of visions of that era; and some of my favorite performances from Woodstock as well I hope you enjoy them as much as I have.
