IF YOU RECALL I told you how my lady's grandson was nicely treated in a restaurant when on leave from Iraq. Well this is a different situation that he is enduring back in action. His mother received a call from Iraq that her son was injured when he was riding on the top of a Humvee that was hit by a bomb. Fortunately from that position, he was thrown about 50 feet in the air and landed on his head. He had multiple head injuries and is in the hospital and will probably at some time be sent to his home base.

I am not a political person, but I have a beef with the army and their recruiting methods. Originally he signed up to be a paramedic and they told him that would happen. But, once he signed up and reported they told him that the paramedic training school was filled, so he had to go to the regular army training. A real old bait and switch deal.

He never would have enlisted otherwise. But with all those promises and with money and an education after he served was a bunch of hogwash. These recruiters are worse then a used car salesman or any other type of sales person you have run across THAT YOU DETESTED. While I'm against the oil hungry mercenaries and an incompetent president, we as citizens and especially those of us that have kids or grandkids that might be called to fight a futile war should stand up and question what's going on. I'll bet that this situation in Iraq and Afghanistan and possible Iran and who can guess where else, a draft will soon be employed. Do you want that? I know I don't. When will the law authorities, especially judges, send those "gang bangers" and many street undesirables to serve in the service instead of supporting them in prisons? Many of the, so called, illegal aliens could, if they volunteer into the service, be granted residence and/or citizenship like we had in WW2.

It is time you couch potato seniors voice out to your congressperson, senators, and presidential candidates to speak up and stop giving us a big line of BULLSHIT and face the facts. When these representatives come out for the vote, rise up and face them and look them in the eye and get a satisfactory answer.

I've been around since the depression and three major wars and then some and I know I'm pissed. You should be to. We as seniors are taking a lot of crap from the government with regard to social security, medical care and probably a hundred more abuses. Do we have to lose our present and future heirs? Stand up and speak out NOW.

Extra note: What happens to all that money promised to recruits for signing up and for their education that die for the oil companies and a screw loose, lying president?
