Misguided When it Comes to Drinking Water

A GREAT MANY people are misguided when it comes to drinking water. They feel that it is just not important and many simply do not drink any water at all. Also, even if you do drink a lot of water, it is vital to be drinking the proper kind of water. If you drink tap, reverse- osmosis, distilled or bottled water you may want to read on!

Take a look at these facts and statistics...

75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated. (this likely applies to half the world population)

In 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak that it is mistaken for hunger.

Even MILD dehydration will slow down one's metabolism as much as 3%.

One glass of water will shut down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of the dieters who participated in a University of Washington study.

The #1 trigger of daytime fatigue is lack of water.

Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers.

A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math and difficulty focusing on the computer screen or a printed page.

Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45%, breast cancer by 79% and bladder cancer by 50%.

Drinking 5 glasses of water decreases likeliness to die from a heart attack by 41%.

These startling statistics make perfect sense since almost two-thirds of our body IS water:

  • Blood is 83% water
  • Muscles are 75% water
  • The brain is 74% water
  • Bone is 22% water

Kangen Water - The True Fountain of Youth and Wellness!

When water is alive, ionized, alkaline and free of contaminants, is truly a "wonder drug." Without chemicals, additives or anything unnatural, a daily dose of 8 glasses of water a (ideally ½ your body weight in ounces of water):

  • Improves your energy
  • Increases your mental and physical performance
  • Removes toxins and waste products from your body
  • Keeps skin healthy and glowing
  • Increases our metabolism and helps you lose weight
  • Reduces headaches and dizziness
  • Allows for proper digestion
  • Helps to keep you more alkaline
  • Aides in the proper functioning of your kidneys, joints, back, brain and is important for optimal health during pregnancy

The four biggest mistakes you can make:

Waiting until you are thirsty to drink water. By the time your body feels thirsty you have already suffered the consequences of dehydration and have experienced the reverse effects of the list above.

Turning to sodas (diet ones especially!), coffee, teas, beer or sugar-laden synthetic juices to cure your thirst. Many of those options will actually dehydrate you further, (coffees and teas are a natural diuretic and many sodas and beers are made to keep you thirsty), or be a Trojan horse for chemicals that you do not want to ingest.

Avoid plastic bottled water unless you’re traveling or live in an area where the quality of water is questionable. Bottled water, because it is less regulated, has less-certain purity and safety than tap water, and is much more expensive. Reduce or eliminate use of plastic bottles to avoid landfill waste and exposure to chemicals that leach from the plastic, such as BPA which is very harmful for our bodies. Have you ever heard the benefits of antioxidants? Well, this water is an oxidant.

Reverse Osmosis is another popular method used to filter water. It's often labeled as "pure water", which is indicating that the water is very close to raw H2O. We refer to this water as "dead water" because it is lacking in minerals and other particles that bring the water to life. This water is so empty that it literally acts as a sponge to all it comes in contact with. It can suck the pollution from the air as well as nutrients from your body! It's also a very acidic water which is harmful for the body.
