City Seeks Public Comment on Las Vegas
2020 Master Plan Draft Elements

THE PUBLIC IS invited to submit comments on three draft plan elements of the Las Vegas 2020 Master Plan that are scheduled to be considered by the Planning Commission at its Oct. 25, 2007 meeting. Comments on the three elements, parks and recreation, public buildings and transit, will be taken at the Oct. 25 meeting that begins at 6 p.m. at City Hall, located at 400 Stewart Ave.

The draft elements can be reviewed at www.lasvegasnevada.gov/planning, and the public can also submit comments about the elements through the Web site until 3 p.m. on Oct. 25. In addition, compact disc copies of the draft elements are available for a $5 fee at the Development Services Center, located at 731 S. Fourth St. Written comments will also be accepted if sent to the Planning & Development Department, Development Services Center, 731 S. Fourth St., Las Vegas, NV 89101, Attn: Valerie Soilihi.

The parks & recreation element is an update of its previous version to reflect the recreational needs and desires of the city’s residents. It measures the city’s progress and sets new priorities for achieving a fair distribution of parks and recreation services in the city. The public buildings element is an inventory and assessment of the city’s present and future facility needs, its level of service goals and its administrative space requirements. The transit element provides a comprehensive analysis of transit systems and associated amenities within the city.

Elements of the city’s master plan must be included and updated regularly per state law.
