"The Tout" & "The Mouth of Motown" will now team up against Casey Smith and "Mystic Mona" and will pit wits and predictions right here on VCO!

A lady should never gloat when her three-pick are 100%, especially when she chooses tough games (Packers and Patriots) last week - she should wait until she predicts all of the winning teams correctly. When THAT happens, we’ll notify Jay Leno and make this weekly publication even more popular! And then Casey, The Tout and Motown Mouth will live happily ever after.

I mean no offense because I think he’s really swell, but I’m never quite certain what The Tout means when he’s doing his pick highlights with the really cool moving stars (I want moving stars)…does he mean we’re supposed to bet on the team he lists first? If that’s the case (and my math is correct), then the only one he got right with the point spread was the Jets. And as for Motown Mouth, well, 33% - need I say more?

I believe that last week’s games set the tone for who will be going to the BIG game. Casey and I both know that one of the teams should be the Patriots. However, though I am mad about the Packers, I’m falling a little in love with the Cowboys, Steelers and Lions.

Casey's PICKS

So, the playing field has been leveled, and I don't mean Mona's Ouija board.  The Patriots are for real, but they're also, unfortunately, on their bye week.  No betting lock this week.

And yes, the Tout is right, I chose the 49ers with my heart last week, but it's a different story this week.  The Niners have had the Seahawks' number as of late and they seem to be able to ground the birds in their home cage.  The rest of the picks, well, seem like no brainers.  (that should leave the field open for a few upsets!)

Oh, and one more thing.  All you Packer Backers and Cowboy Cuddlers better take your new-found success with a grain of cheese and horse dung.  This year's Super Bowl will be a super embarrassment for whatever NFC pigeon happens to earn the right to paint a big 'ol bulls eye on its back.

I'm comin' to get you Tout!  Mona, you're still the best!!!

Pad this…..

It appears the Mouth got a little too much sun in Hawaii or perhaps he did partakeith of some tainted coconut milk!

He claims that his colleagues (which includes his “2 bit – 4 bit” teammate) attempt to pad their numbers in the SU selections by choosing mostly favorites. However, the verified facts tell us that it is in fact my esteemed mentor, on a percentage basis fingers more “favs” than his contemporaries. Through this past week Motown has chosen 16 out of 21 teams that gave one or more points to their opponents; doing so at a 76% clip, while yours truly attempts to “pad” only 67% of the time, (76 out of 112 games.) Mystic shows an even smaller percentage of “pads”. So my friend, check your facts with your eyes before whining with your mouth….

And lastly Mouth, thank you for sparing us the verbosity you normally subject us to, this past week.

Like the Baltimore Ravens this was a week to forget!!!! Got whooped by both Mystic (by two) and Casey (by 1). If they keep picking the 49ers, I’ll have a chance to make amends.

Team vs. Team – the “Cockles” went 17 – 11 – 61%, “2 Bits–4 Bits” came in at 8-9 47%. For the season the “Cockles” are 114-84 – 57.5%, “2 Bits–4 Bits” 90-48 – 65%.

My star picks “saw stars” going 1-4 – minus 9½ stars. We’re still on the positive end of the stick for the season at 23-17-4 – 57% + 4 stars.

We’ll get back on track with the selections below.

I have nothing to say this week, I have no opinions, these are my picks.

O.K. so I lied. The day I have no NFL opinions is the day you can hook me up to the ventilator.

Titans/Jags - Titans JUST WIN. If may be with mirrors, or the Jeff Fisher genius but this group plays good D, smart football and should handle the on the downswing Jags who have serious problems both at QB and stopping the run.

Chargers/Colts - Chargers are the upset special of the week. This poorly coached gutless outfit with a QB who should be ballet dancing and not in the NFL. (Here that Phil, grow some cojones or hit the road) may still have enough in them to atone for last week's embarrassment and take advantage of a superior Indy outfit who couldn't be blamed if still hung over from last week's "Game of the Century"

Dolphins/Bills -  How's this Dolphins pick for going out on a limb. I just can't see this proud organization going winless for the season; and this may be their best shot at avoiding said infamy. As far as concrete reasons why they should win........uh I don't believe there are any.

Once again I would like to thank the Tout for his "article". Its the only cure for my insomnia.
