Hoop Time

It’s that time of year again (Lets crown the Patriots and get on with college hoops!)
All of us here at VCO wish former Rebel and NBA star Reggie Theus good luck in his NBA coaching debut……
Speaking of the Rebels, last year’s Mountain West champs and “Sweet 16” participants are in for a long season after losing 4 starters and 5 seniors from last years 30 win team. However look forward to the Wink Adams’ led “Running Rebs” to at least be entertaining this season. More on Lon Kruger and the boys later…
Below find 4 NCAA teams that should do well in ROI (return on investment) ATS, at least thru the month of December.
Butler Bulldogs
Virginia Cavaliers
St. Louis Billikens
Akron Zips
As of press time (Thursday night) Butler stood at 2-0 ATS and St Louis 1-1. Virginia and Akron have yet to play a game that involved a point spread.
In the case for Butler, last years “Little Team That Could” returns all starters from a 29 win season, although again not having a player on the roster over 6-8. Butler ran their opponents ragged with their quickness and speed and also boast one of the best guard duos (Graves and Green) in college hoops.
I look for this years’ team to again advance deep into the NCAA tournament come March……………. Last year they made the “Sweet 16”
More on the other three teams next week.
