The Boys & Girls
Club of America started here in 1961, now with one dozen locations in
Vegas…Membership serves 21,000 currently. The kids & teens age range from 6-18
years old and many activities are provided by the generous donations of
corporations and private individuals. The funds provided give the young people
access to several activities that they can now enjoy beyond the public school
systems… Like ART Education, which, is hardly provided at all, due to the lack of
Federal funding. Many school systems had to cut what little funding there was
for cultural information, including sports??? COME ON! Young people in this age
category need the physical outlets, and the right brain stimulation to stay on a
positive path. So lets focus on some of the people who are really trying to
fill the gap…and all of us can pick up the slack! Soon the Clark county
facilities will merge with Henderson to add 5 more facilities and 3000 more
members.
JOHNNY BRENDEN,
owner, of Brenden Theatre chains thru out California and Nevada is one of those
individuals making that difference. However, shy, quiet and humble, Johnny takes
out his time to provide inspiration by his personal participation. Visiting the
young people, providing a role model, making available his theatres for their
entertainment & education and donating funds from the Brenden/MANN Foundation.

WOW! What more can we ask from a busy entrepreneur. He also funded this beautiful calendar by artist Jennifer Main; all net proceeds go to the clubs for the HOLIDAY Season. ONLY $19.99.

Local artist, Jennifer Main, who is now taking her time to teach these kids to draw, paint and appreciate ART, is emerging not only for her wonderful creations, but also for her time spent with teaching art to these children… Jennifer was a teenage artist herself, when she was first recognized as being a true emerging artist here in Vegas and now expanding Nationally with her signature style. The kids just love her and emulate the youthful & colorful painting style, which she actually collaborates on with them.
At the GHOST BAR Auction & Reception, Thursday night, Nov.8th, her art contributions brought in thousand of dollars to support the clubs. Contributions from the Brenden foundation, N9NE Group, plus COMMUNITY SUPPORT bought in an excess of $100k.
“Our First Art Auction & Reception was a tremendous success which would have not been possible without the dedication and support of our volunteers and community partners, all whom gave their hearts & souls to this event. We want to thank them and look forward to working with them at our next event” ! Jim Richards, CEO, BGCLV
Each of us can contribute at least $20 to help keep this .org grow the fine art program.

Think art all year!. These programs have to be supported by the community because it just isn’t coming from the GOV at this time…. Why is this so important? Because the right side of the brain needs to be activated to keep kids NORMAL and balanced, out of trouble and simply creating, good positive stuff! A list of Jennifer Main appearances and fundraisers for the BOYS & Girls Clubs are listed on the site.

Over the past 25 years ARTV has donated several millions of dollars in artworks to Museums, Art Institutes, Universities & Medical centers nationally. We do this to make our contributions, hoping we can make a difference. In reflection, I really do not know if we have been doing enough??? I now believe it should go directly to the source… At this time its up to the next generation, who really needs it the most. They have to put up the slack, where the baby boomers will start leaving off…lets help support them in every little way we can. Its starts with EDUCATION!
ARTV will now donate original Art Educational films: We want to distribute these to the Boys & Girls Clubs, To the Art Cinemas and even thru out the school systems. All the positive, colorful stimulation we can provide will hopefully have the effect that our generation was hardly exposed too. “ ARTV AMERICA” The first cut: is a two hour video of all 50 Nominees, around America, working in their studios, explaining their inspiration, techniques and ART creations in 15 fine ART categories! These were the artists who participated in the making of the PREMIER ARTV AWARDS that aired on NBC Bravo in March 2007 and played in Brenden Theatre, Las Vegas, on Sept. 28th 2007.
“ARTV AMERICA”, DVD, is the “behind the scenes” version of the making of the Premier awards event. This film would give the young people a chance to see how an ART -TV production is actually made. For more info on this video contact: Info@artvawards.com
Happy Holidays!
