Tony Danza Stays In
'The Producers' To The Show's End At Paris
Tony Danza will continue his run as the famous Broadway theatrical
producer Max Bialystock in Mel Brook's musical comedy "The Producers" at
Paris
through Feb. 9, 2008, when the Las Vegas engagement ends. The show
opened at Paris on Feb. 9, 2007.
Prior to Las Vegas, Danza performed the Bialystock role in the Broadway
production. Danza is best known for his sitcom personas having starred
on
some of television's long-running series from "Taxi" to "Who's the
Boss." He has also established himself as a stage and screen star, as
well as a respected
entertainer. His theatrical debut in "Wrong Turn at Lungfish," earned
him an Outer Critic's Circle Award nomination.
Fremont Street Hosts Live Ice Skating Show
The Fremont Street Experience will be hosting a live ice skating show,
"Bright Lights on Ice," Dec. 11-22. The free seasonal spectacular will
feature an
ensemble cast of professional figure skaters and gymnasts in a
combination of winter athleticism and artistry on the outdoor promenade
of Fremont Street. "Bright
Lights on Ice" show times are 7:30, 8:30 and 9:30 p.m.
Amidst the illusion of falling snow, the skaters will perform solo
routines with lifts and spins from the iced platform of the 3rd Street
stage while trampoline
acrobats defy gravity from the ground below. Cheerful holiday music and
glittering costumes will evoke the festive season spirit.
The cast includes former Canadian National and World Team members and
1995 Skate Canada bronze medalists, Jodeyne Higgins and Sean Rice; 22
-year skating veteran, soloist and choreographer, Meegan McDonald; 2003
United States Championships competitor, Samira Banna; and four other
skaters with
experience in competitions, shows and instruction.
JAMES BLUNT TO PERFORM AT THE PEARL AT THE PALMS FEB. 8
Melodic British singer/songwriter James Blunt will be performing as part
of his Lost Souls Tour at The Pearl Concert Theater on Friday, Feb. 8,
2008, at 8
p.m. Presented by Andrew Hewitt and Live Nation, tickets are $58, $68

Blunt released his first album, "Back to Bedlam" in 2004, which spawned
the No. 1 single "You're Beautiful" and brought him international fame.
The album
reached No. 1 in 18 countries and Blunt was subsequently nominated for
five Grammys. Blunt, whose music is a mixture of pop and acoustic rock,
toured for most of
2005 and 2006 before releasing a live album, "Chasing Time: The Bedlam
Sessions."
Blunt's sophomore effort, "All the Lost Souls." consists of a
combination of songs he wrote on the road and at his home in Ibiza,
Spain. Released in
September 2007, the album's first single "1973" reached No. 1 in seven
countries.
Riviera
Plans Remodeling Project
The Riviera has confirmed plans for a 30-month significant remodeling
project. A major portion of the $25 million renovation will include the
new Signature
and Deluxe Rooms.
The 980 Signature Rooms will be located in the Monaco Tower.
Renovations are scheduled to begin in April 2008 with 45 rooms per week
slated for
remodel. Each room remodel includes Euro beds, flat screen plasma
television, work desk, club chair and ottoman, IPod MP3 alarm clock
radio and renovated
baths. All the rooms will be non-smoking. Additional remodeling in the
Monaco will include corridors and elevator landings. All suites will be
remodeled once the
guest rooms are completed.
Additional renovations scheduled for completion by March 2008 include:
new casino carpet and ceiling paint; Royale Ballroom carpet replacement
and
ceiling paint; and a new Sports Book and Bar.

Changes are happening at the Hard Rock. Simon Kitchen & Bar has closed
there and will be replaced by the South Beach Italian-style restaurant
AGO.
Popular A.J.'s Steakhouse will be replaced by a new dining concept by
the owners of Los Angeles Les Deux Café. A olunge at the resort will be
changed into a rock
and roll bar called Wasted Space.
Note that chef Kerry Simon will move to the new Palm Place and open a
dining experience there next spring.
The Ritz-Carlton at Lake Las Vegas will host a Johnnie Walker scotch
tasting event with master of whiskey, Edward Adams on Saturday, Dec. 8,
from 7 to
10 p.m. in the Firenze Lobby Lounge. Each guest will receive a
personalized engraved bottle keepsake, dine on hors d'oeuvres, and enjoy
the resort's resident

The Company American Bistro, which has celebrity investors Nicky Hilton,
Wilmer Valderrama and Nick Lachey, opened inside the Luxor last month.
It's
located adjacent to LAX Nightclub and boasts a rustic feel in a chic
organic environment.
It turns out Wayne Newton may do the "Dancing With The Stars" tour that
will include a Dec. 30 stop at The Orleans Arena. However, his holiday
shows for
six weeks at Harrah's are definitely off his schedule.
The Las Vegas Ski and Snowboard Resort located on the way to Mount
Charleston on Highway 156 is opening this month through next April. The
recreation destination, which now has more than 70 percent of its
visitors wanting to snowboard, made some changes during the off-season
to favor the popular sport.
Spiedini located in the J.W. Marriott Resort will be holding a wine
tasting dinner featuring Beringer Vineyards on Tuesday, Dec. 18, at 6:30

Activities
Kevin Federline will ring in the New Year at the Tangerine Lounge &

STATION CASINOS HOSTS 'STARS OF COUNTRY' MUSIC CONCERT SERIES
Station Casinos is hosting today's leading country music stars for a
concert series in conjunction with the National Finals Rodeo. The
concert series will
take place Dec. 7-15 at multiple venues including the 500-seat Ovation
at Green Valley Ranch Resort, The Railhead with 650 seats at Boulder
Station, and the 550-
seat Chrome Showroom at Santa Fe Station.
The concert series features headlining artists Keith Anderson, Rodney
Atkins and Phil Vassar.
Rodney Atkins will headline at Boulder Station on Dec. 7 and 8 at 8
p.m. Tickets are $29.95, $37.95, $44.95 and $49.95. Atkins has
released two albums,
"Honesty" in 2003 and "If You're Going Through Hell" in 2006. That same
year, he won an Academy of Country Music award for the 2006 Top New Male
Vocalist.
Phil Vassar will perform at Green Valley Ranch on Dec. 14 and 15 at 7
p.m. Tickets are $27.50, $34.95 and $47.50. Vassar's career first took
off as a
songwriter for Nashville artists who patronized the bar and restaurant
he owned. For EMI Recording, he wrote songs for other artists including
Collin Raye ("Little Red
Rodeo"), Alan Jackson ("Right on the Money") and Tim McGraw ("For a
Little While"). His songwriting ability earned him the prestigious title
of Country Songwriter of
the Year by ASCAP in 1999. The following year, Vassar released his
debut album as a singer.
Singer/songwriter Keith Anderson will take center stage at Santa Fe
Station in North Las Vegas on Dec. 14 and 15 at 8 p.m. Tickets are
$22.50, $28.50 and
$32.50. Anderson's career took off with the hit single he co-wrote
"Beer Run (B Double E Double Are You In?)," which was recorded as a duet
by Garth Brooks and
George Jones in 2001. Anderson then signed a recording deal with Arista
Records and released his debut album, "Three Chord Country and American
Rock &
Roll," in 2005. This past October, he released the album "C'Mon," which
includes the version of the song he wrote for country duo Big & Rich,
"Lost In This Moment."
In addition, the five-member band Flynnville Train will perform free
concerts on Dec. 14 and 15 at Green Valley Ranch. This country band
formed in 2001,
signed with country star Toby Keith's music label, Show Dog Nashville,
in June 2006. The band was the opening act for Keith's recent tour.
Their first album,
"Flynnville Train," was released on Sept. 11 this year.
'Walking With
Dinosaurs' Takes Over Thomas & Mack Center, Jan. 9-13
Dinosaurs will take over the Thomas & Mack Center on the UNLV campus,
Jan. 9-13.
The show, "Walking With Dinosaurs - The Live Experience," is based on
the award-winning BBC Television Series and brought to North America by
Immersion

Fifteen roaring, snarling "live" dinosaurs will be the stars of the
show. They will include Tyrannosaurus Rex, Utahraptor, Stegosaurus, and
the largest of
them, the Brachiosaurus, which is 45 feet tall and 75 feet from nose to
tail.
The show depicts the dinosaurs' evolution spanning their entire 200
million year reign. The history of the world is played out with almost
cinematic realism,
including scenes of the interactions between dinosaurs.

Cinevegas Film
Festival Celebrates Ten Years In 2008
The CineVegas Film Festival will celebrate its tenth anniversary in
2008, with the Festival being held June 12 - 21, at the Palms and
Brenden Theatres in
Las Vegas. Legendary actor, filmmaker and artist Dennis Hopper will
continue to serve as Chairman of the Creative Advisory Board in 2008.

Cash prizes will be awarded for select films, including $10,000 for the

Dom Irrera Headlines
Riviera Comedy Club
Comedian Dom Irrera will be joined by Bruce Clark and Lisa Mende when he
headlines the Riviera Comedy Club, Dec. 10-16. Tickets are $19.95 for

Irrera's comedic style has much of his material derived from his own
experiences growing up in a three-floored, multi-generational, Italian
household in
South Philadelphia.
Irrera tells an intricate mix of stories with his characters weaved
together seamlessly. He's the winner of two CableACE awards and six
American
Comedy Award nominations as Best Male Stand-Up. Along with many network
show appearances, his film work includes "The Big Lebowski" and "The
Godson,"
and his voice is also very much in demand in the field of animation.
This will be comic Bruce Clark's first trip to the Riviera stage. He
has co-starred with Drew Carey performing for hundreds of soldiers in
Iraq.
New Jersey native, Lisa Mende, is probably best known for her recurring
role on "Seinfeld" as Carol, the mother of the most hideous looking baby
in
sitcom history. Starting out as an actress, Mende has dozens of TV and
feature film credits, including; "The Five Heartbeats," "Hollywood
Shuffle" and "Honey, I blew
up the Kids."
