Well, I certainly cannot match the New England Patriots and their perfect (barring a collapse Saturday night) season. Mona, we tried. Mouth... Oh, never mind and Tout, don't be tootin' the horn yet. The second season is coming. I'll take the Niners this week because they're lose and Cleveland has no control of their destiny and will probably rest their starters thinking they're backing into the playoffs because Indy will clobber Tennessee. I'm not confident the Pack will beat the resurgent Lions, but that's my story now and the Eagles probably shouldn't take the Bills down, by probably will. Best bet: Jaguars

Well it looks the “The Mystic One” found that magic elixir, as she put both yours truly and the Mouth to shame and edged ahead of Casey in the battle to stay out of the cellar, in “The VCO Football Challenge”. Mystic went 12-3 SU to Charming’s 10-5 while bringing up the rear were this Tout and the Mouth, going 8-7 and 1-2 respectively, or should I say “disrespectfully?”

I still have an outside chance to edge the Mouth for top honors but the real nail biter, is for 4^th (last) place…………. Stay tuned.

I did not fare much better with my “star picks”, going 2-3 minus a half star. How ever my “Game of the Year” won as Jacksonville prevailed over the Raiders 49-11, covering the 12 ½ point spread………….

For the season we stand at 42-36-4 + 28 stars 54 ½ %

Taking a peek before press, I noticed that the Mouth threw in a fourth game. Could it be he did not want to go 1-2 again, or was he giving me a better chance to serve brgging rights, in the 1st "VCO Football Challenge."

Eagles/Bills After last week's debacle I think I'll just go for padding the stats on a week (last of regular season) that is notoriously difficult to handicap as knowing who will be playing and who resting is always a mystery. That being said I'll go with the hot side in this battle of have-nots. Eagles playing playoff caliber football last 2 weeks, Bills hardly playing.

Dolphins/Bengals This would hardly be an upset as the Fish have the opportunity to double their win total for the year in one fell swoop and the Bengals (those not in jail) mailed in what was predicted to have been a big year for them. Miami +3 should get the cash.

Packers/Lions I don't care who rests, the Lions are on the road again and its the last chance of the year to grab the "free money". I plan to extract a little at this grossly reduced number myself.

Bears/Saints What the hell..........why not a bonus pick for the New Year for my readers who deserve it. Here's another game where they made the wrong favorite. Saints had their chance to make the playoffs last week at home and came up lame. Bears have some momentum and will finish these underachievers off for the homefolks.
