More than ten years ago, Top of the World opened at the Stratosphere Hotel, Tower and Casino and remains one of the most romantic places to dine with great food, intoxicating atmosphere and an unbelievable view.  Located in the Tower, one enters a foyer complete with a piano before entering the elevator to Top of the World, 106 stories in the air.  The friendly elevator operator warmly greets diners, and entertains with facts about the Stratosphere as that the elevator travels 20 miles per hour.  In less than 30 seconds and more than 105 floors, the elevator doors open either into the Top of the World Restaurant or into the Romance Lounge, one floor above the restaurant.  The first sight of Las Vegas from that high is just breath-taking and is the beginning of an wonderful experience, whether for lunch, dinner or a late night drink.

The entire restaurant is a circle which includes the kitchen and bar on the inside and the tables on the outer rim.  Located more than 800 feet above Las Vegas, this award-winning restaurant revolves 360 degrees in one hour and 20 minutes with a fantastic scene every degree of the way.

Top of the World is a classy, beautiful place to dine.  The colors are rich, the carpeting is a deep burgundy, and everything, from pats of butter to desserts, to the plates, is created with the image of the Stratosphere tower.  The tablecloths are sparkling white with white plates colored with burgundy.  The table settings are complete and Top of the World is very open yet intimate at the same time.

All items at Top of the World are served a la carte, although three and four-course dinners for two are offered.  Top of the World’s wine list features 215 wines, available by the glass and bottle.

Some of the entrees offered include Filet Mignon and Shrimp, Center cut Certified Angus Beef® charbroiled and topped with two shrimp and a lemon butter caper sauce, Prime Rib Certified Angus Beef ® slow roasted and served with au jus and creamy horseradish sauce, Salmon di Parma wrapped with sage and Proscuitto over caramelized pears and basil beurre blanc, Ahi Tuna seared medium to medium rare and served with fennel salad and Kurobuta Pork Chop marinated, grilled and served with an apple-apricot compote and port reduction.

The seafood offered include Sea Bass encrusted with Porcini mushroom dust, pan seared and served over wilted Romaine finished with Riviera de Fiori extra virgin olive oil, Dover Sole Almandine served with a buerre blanc sauce, and Salmon di Parma wrapped with sage and Proscuitto over caramelized pears and basil beurre blanc.

Desserts include their signature dessert; The Chocolate Stratosphere which is a Stratosphere Tower filled with rich dark chocolate mousse and garnished tableside with vanilla sauce.  There is Panna Cotta, a creamy Spanish custard flavored with a touch of Grand Marnier served atop a rich butter cookie.  Also offered is Tiramisu, ladyfingers dipped in Kahlua, Amaretto, and flavored with espresso, layered in Mascarpone cheese and garnished with fresh whipped cream. For dessert beverages, try Tuscan Coffee, a Godiva White Chocolate Martini or a Godiva Dark Chocolate Martini.
