Celebrity Scene News, celebrating its 25th anniversary, is expanding its news and content services for print, radio and television. The purpose now is to inspire people through positive interviews where stars will share on their personal insights on how God has guided their careers.
A segment from Pete Allman's Positive Moments
When an individual hears something positive from a celebrity, it’s going to inspire the person for the most part. Recently Sylvester Stallone spoke about health issues and spoke about his son, Seargeoh, who has autism.
On the health and fitness issues, Stallone says it’s about walking and being active, along with eating non-greasy food. In regard to autism, he says there’s no real cure but that Jenny McCarthy has done a good job in helping improve the skills and development of autistic children through her “Teach2Teach” video programs.
Stallone is a persistent individual and believes that staying positive and surrounding yourself with positive people is one way to achieve success. Persistence will win out in the end, he stated.
The next installment of his legendary “Rambo” series will premiere Jan. 25. Stallone, incidentally, was one of the original investors of the Planet Hollywood restaurants, along with Demi Moore, Bruce Willis, Robert Earl and others. Thanks to the ingenious wit of Earl, he was able to parlay that into what is now Planet Hollywood Resort. The popular celeb-style resort attracted over 100 stars on its recent grand opening on the Las Vegas Strip.
Among the stars on the red carpet with Demi Moore and Bruce Willis were actors Danny Glover, Rhea Perlman, Danny Devito and Martin Sheen , along with performing stage artists George Wallace, Tom Jones and Eddie Griffin.
Not entirely surprising, established celebrities are people just like every day working people, but the difference is that the stars make millions of dollars, and some of them are philanthropists. Look for future Celebrity Scene News video interviews on the ways that these celebrities use their wealth and fame to help their communities and the less fortunate, as well as how their personal experiences can serve as inspiration to others.

Patti LaBelle Raises Diabetes Awareness
The
topic of health has ever endured in our society. One health condition that
concerns many Americans is diabetes. Some ethnic groups are more at risk. For
one, African-
Americans
are nearly twice as likely to have diabetes than non-Hispanic Whites of a
similar age groups, according to the National Diabetes Education Program.
Patti Labelle, the spokesperson for the American Diabetes Association, knows first hand about the how risky neglecting you health can be. The grand diva, while performing to sold-out concert, collapsed on stage a few years ago and was later diagnosed with diabetes.
“I was scared to go to the doctor because I was so afraid of what I’d find. Once I got there, with my family history, I’ll tell you I had a lot of fear — and for good reason. But that’s one reason I’m so happy I’m a spokesperson for the American Diabetes Association, because in that capacity, I can make a difference for Black people,” she said, adding that she brings greater awareness. “As a race, I think we are afraid of hearing bad news. Plus, we just think we’re invincible.”
Warning signs to look for that may indicate diabetes are: frequent urination, excessive thirst, extreme hunger, unusual weight loss, increased fatigue, irritability and blurring vision.
Anyone diagnosed with diabetes should check his or her blood levels throughout the day, everyday; eat healthy, discontinue fried foods in the diet, and do some sort of exercise. Like Patti LaBelle, be watchful, realistic and focused on life to live longer.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department recognizes the importance of community involvement in providing safety to the downtown area. LVMPD Lt. W. Graham is experienced in fighting crime and drug trafficking. He has put forth a program that is effectively diminishing crime and drug-related offenses, especially robbery. According to the officer, it’s a team effort, and partnering with the community makes it successful.
The Downtown Business Operators Council is also working with the program to help educate business owners on how to recognize and eliminate risk factors to avoid being victims of robbery and other crimes.
LVMPD for the past year hosts First Tuesdays, held at the Downtown Area Command on 9th and Bonanza. Individual business owners, as well as the public, are encouraged to attend the informational meetings held on the first Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m.. Contact Earl White at 513-9063 or 265-9099 for more information.
