Senator Harry Reid Greets Young Entertainers at the Capitol
Building
Helen Joy’s
Young Entertainers and Tony Sacca gave an outstanding Las
Vegas-performance Saturday night, Dec. 8, at 7:30 p.m. for 75
minutes inside the White House. The age range for the group was
5 to 16 years old. White House staff members and guests marveled
at the young Las Vegas performers’ singing abilities. Scheduled
to perform for one hour, the talented youth were asked to do an
extra 15 minutes. Before their performance, the group was given
a personal tour of the White House

“These young
entertainers are very professional,” said a Washington-staff
person. “We are from Las Vegas,” I responded. "This is what our
industry is in Las Vegas – Entertainment. We live it,
breath it, see it and we know what it takes to put on a good
show."
What a thrill
it was for me to sing ‘Let There Be Peace on Earth’ inside the
White House,” said Sacca. “It was an experience I’ll never
forget.”
The day
before the White House performance, Helen Joy’s Young
Entertainers and Sacca gave a private performance for Senator
Harry Reid, his staff and some invited guests. One of his staff
members commented that this was such a refreshing break for him.
After the
performance, Senator Reid gave the group accolades, chatted with
them a bit, and invited them to take a tour of the Capitol
Building.
The trip was
partially funded by the Youth Foundation for the Performing
Arts, and Sacca’s fundraising Christmas television special
“Merry Christmas Las Vegas.”
This year’s
show features - Fred Travalena, Clint Holmes, Pete Barbutti,
Kelly Clinton, Shades of Sinatra, Jeanine Marie and Michaelina,
Derek David of the Platters, Felix Silla (cousin Itt), Tony and
The Merry Christmas Las Vegas Dancers, the fabulous Helen Joy’s
Young Entertainers and the Michael T Orchestra.
