New Year’s Eve or New Year’s Day

It is hard to believe but 2008 is almost here.  Whether you live in town or are visiting, enjoying a great meal and clubbing is a wonderful way to bring in the New Year.  Here are some ideas from around the valley if you are still undecided what you want to do on New Year’s Eve or New Year’s Day.

Memphis Championship Barbecue features a Smoked Prime Rib Dinner including a 12 oz. prime rib, baked potato, steamed vegetables, dinner salad and dinner rolls for $16.99 during the holiday season all three of their locations.

The restaurant also wants to help customers start 2008 off right. According to Southern superstitions and folklore, eating black-eyed peas on New Year’s Day will attract good luck and financial blessings in the year to follow. Those who dine at Memphis Championship Barbecue on New Year’s Day will receive a free sample of black-eyed peas.

“At Memphis Championship Barbecue, we hope to help relieve a bit of stress during the holidays,” said restaurateur and owner Mike Mills. “Allow us to handle some of the cooking. And don’t forget black-eyed peas to ensure a prosperous new year.”

Memphis Championship Barbecue has three locations in Las Vegas: on the west side at 1401 S. Rainbow Blvd. between Charleston and Oakey (702-254-0520), open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday; in Green Valley at 2250 East Warm Springs Rd.
