New Years Eve at
Poetry Nightclub...
Poetry
is awash in
soft chocolate
hues with
black
and
red accents. Black sheers, red
roses and chandeliers laced with black crystals
create a
seductive
atmosphere with an
intoxicating
feel. A
newly built
VIP section, located by the
dance floor, can double as stage, enhancing the
flexibility and creativity of the venue's space.
For
New Years Eve 2008 Poetry will
be host to Hip-Hop Superstar's
E-40
and
DJ Kid Capri.
This is sure to be a
star-studded
event, as is every
E-40 Party.
For his Birthday, which was also held at Poetry,
A-Listers
including
Snoop Dogg
and
Chris Rock were in attendance
for the
festivities.
Come to
Poetry
Nightclub for
New Years Eve
and see
actual poetry
incorporated into the club's design, as lines of
calligraphic verse appear
everywhere from the napkins to the ceiling to
the floor and walls. Classic pieces/excerpts,
including the works of
Edgar Allan
Poe and, interestingly enough,
the
Marquis de Sade give way to the
more modern words of hip-hop and rap poets like
Tupac Shakur bringing "Poetry" into today's market. A
beautiful and timeless way to link the eternal
romance of the past to today's mainstream
landscape.
Poetry Nightclub
is located inside the

Jamie Foxx's Fabulous 40th Finale at
JET Nightclub
Oscar-winner
Jamie
Foxx, who just turned 40,
celebrated the finale to a weeklong of birthday
parties in grand fashion at
JET Nightclub
at The Mirage. The biggest and wildest party yet
(it is Vegas, of course), the fashionable Foxx
dressed to impress sporting a white pinstriped
shirt, a black necktie, black vest, and grey
trousers - quite a juxtaposition from the lone
article of clothing he wore at his Miami Beach
party last week...low-riding shorts,
commando-style.
Foxx
and friend,
comedic actor
Martin Lawrence, arrived at
midnight and retreated to a corner table in VIP
next to the DJ booth. He was quickly swarmed
with beautiful girls which, one onlooker said,
"were all over him in no time." They drank Grey
Goose and
Bling H2O
Foxx's libation of choice was double Belvedere
and tonic. Prior to JET,
Foxx and
Lawrence dined at Stack Restaurant & Bar,
enjoying all its greatest hits appetizers and
Kobe sirloin.
At JET, Foxx was presented with an impressive triple-tiered cake from Jean-Phillippe Pattiserie
which he absolutley loved. Foxx took to the mic
throughout the evening and was shouting to the
entire crowd "If it's my birthday, it's your
birthday" over and over again which pumped up
the packed club creating a high-energy party
atmosphere. The Grammy-nominated artist even
treated the crowd to a few songs including Bob
Marley's "One Love," that turned into an
unforgettable club-wide singalong. When Foxx's
hit song "Gold Digger" pumped through the sound
system "he went nuts and danced and bumped with
the pretty patrons," said a clubgoer, adding,
"He was obviously having an amazing time." A
good time indeed. He partied at JET until almost
4 a.m.
