Alexis M. Herman helps SNCCW ‘Make a Difference’
The
Southern Nevada Coalition of Concerned Women is holding its 11th
annual charity
luncheon on May 3 at the Four Seasons Hotel. SNCCW is
a group of professional African-American Women from diverse fields,
nationwide, and their mission is to “make a difference.” The local
organization’s community service work and contributions over the
years has benefited Clark County student scholarship recipients,
Sister to Sister for HIV awareness, the Rainbow Dreams Academy
charter school in North Las Vegas, among others.
The SNCCW has featured a host of distinguished speakers at their events, and this year’s speaker is former U.S. Secretary of Labor Alexis M. Herman, the first African-American woman to serve in the position. She currently serves as a diversity affairs advisor and board member for major corporations, including MGM Mirage. She is chair and CEO of New Ventures LLC. SNCCW is a 501c3 nonprofit corporation. For more information and ticket purchases, call (702) 242-6398.

My book of poetry entitled "Messages" was inspired by my dear friends C.J. Cansler along with Victoria Boone and Beryl Warren.
The group of poems along with some beautiful photographs are to inspire the reader. |
