Tex, the Ghost

I should save this one until October 31, but I can't, it's too good! Saturday night I hosted a business meeting followed by cocktails and dinner. We gathered at my house for the quiet and privacy so we could have a true business meeting. Although my business partner, Hermie and I had only met one of these two gals a couple of times, we have been doing some business with her for months and I felt comfortable having them in. I also wanted them to meet Sassy and Sassy to meet them.

After a very successfully meeting, cocktails and dinner were enjoyed. Let me assure you, everyone was sober. Tongues may have been slightly loosened by one pre-dinner martini and wine with dinner, but no one overindulged as most had to drive. The conversation was general at first, just everyone getting to know each other.

When you have a group, especially if you are doing business with these folks, you are careful about the conversation - no politics, no religion, but what Oprah had to say or Ellen is fine. I think that is how it started. We all discovered that we all believe in the "Secret", one of Oprah and Ellen's favorite topics. This was a common bond among all of us. We all have seen the law of attraction at work in our own lives. I carefully mentioned that I had a Taro card reading one time and I was amazed at the outcome. Sassy mentioned psychics - so far so good, and this led to conversation about paranormal phenomenon. No one said we were nuts or Satanists. Some very religious folks sincerely believe that if you deal with any of the aforementioned subjects, you are dealing directly with the devil. We spoke of communicating with those who have passed and everyone was totally absorbed with the conversation. I have had communication with my mom, my stepson and a very dear friend who are "on the other side." But that's a whole 'nother story.

After I shared some of my true stories, one of my business friends, who I did not know personally, said, "I have a ghost!" Everyone went totally silent and all ears and eyes were on her. Let's call her Lee Ann. I would never want to cause her any embarrassment. She continued, "I have been in my house for seven years and it is haunted. From the first night I heard footsteps on the hard wood floors, my shades open and close at will, things are moved around, and anyone who has ever stayed in my guest room has felt belts of cold air and felt his presence."

Lee Ann's business partner who has known her for years was nodding her head in agreement. "It's true", she said, "I am a witness, but she's not a bit afraid."

Lee Ann continued her amazing story. "It's like he played with me. At first, of course I was frightened but it became apparent that he meant me no harm. He really seemed to be a friendly ghost. Finally one night I was getting fed up with his stomping around. I said, 'I know you're here - so prove it'. There was a cloth napkin laying on my vanity; it lifted up, floated a bit, and slowly floated to the floor. This was not a Kleenex, it was cloth. Not long after that experience, one night I had gone to bed and said, 'OK, I believe, I know you live here too so show yourself. I want to see you.' I was about to go to sleep. I don't know why but I opened my eyes and sat straight up in bed. There he was, a white male, tall and slim, and wearing a cowboy hat, standing right in my bedroom doorway. He was 'ghost-like' and sort of evaporated. I named him Tex because of the cowboy hat.

"I did some research on the background of my home only to discover that it was all blacked out. All the other houses on my street, I could find background information on, but not my house!"

We all agreed that she needs to do more in depth research on the history of her home that she shares with a dead man! She promised to do so and will get back to me with what she discovers.

She has no idea why Tex is hanging around or why he doesn't go on to where he is supposed to be ... do you?  spade diamonds
