The BRILLIANT Keratin Complex Hair Therapy by Coppola at Yost Studios Salon & Spa

 

I heard about this treatment but was NOT convinced it would work for me. Granted, most of the hairstylists at Yost Studios Salon & Spa in Henderson were avowed fans, but we live in Nevada where humidity is not very high. It hasn’t rained here in years!

 

I could really road test the treatment. Clients may have a wedding or event in Hawaii, Puerto Rico, or Florida, or just couldn’t be bothered to use a flat-iron, but every year I go to the Peruvian Rainforest. It’s called the Rainforest for a very good reason. It rains every day. The humidity level easily exceeds 100%. Everything curls up and becomes part of the jungle environment. My eyebrow hairs frizz. The Rainforest is cruel to hair. My gently wavy hair becomes a raging halo of frizz as soon as the plane starts descending into the Lima airport.

 

There are no photos of me in the Rainforest. My hair not only frizzes, each strand separates and splits.  It’s not pretty.

 

So, I took the trip to Henderson to try the treatment a few days before my Peruvian trip. Yost Studios is now a “favorite location” on my GPS System. Owner Mickey Yost (pictured) is not only a champion of the treatment, he’s an advocate. Most of his stylists have the treatment themselves because, they say, it heals the hair. I was, of course, highly skeptical. My hair is thin, and worried it would make me look like I was walking around with pick-up sticks for hair.

 

If you don’t know Mickey Yost, let me tell you that after spending nearly 4 hours in his chair, I can honestly say he is not only a skilled hairstylist, but a terrific boss. All of his stylists fawn over him. His family works with him. He loves his work.

 

The Keratin Complex Hair Therapy by Coppola is a Keratin Infusion System that thermally replaces keratin back into the hair cuticle, rejuvenating and smoothing the hair.

 

The product is therapy for the hair. I’m proof.

 

I had the smoothest, sleekest, prettiest hair in the Rainforest. I am a champion. I can’t live without it now.

 

No harsh chemicals, including formaldehyde (found in other methods), are used. As Mickey guaranteed, my hair is looking soft, shiny and luxurious. It never looked this good!

 

It’s expensive, but the treatment does heal the hair. I was assured I would be pleased and Mickey was confident I would be back. He is right! The treatment lasts from 3 to 4 months depending how often one washes their hair.

 

The process is time-consuming and Mickey doesn’t speed through the process. Instead of treating a few inches of hair at a time as recommended, I swear Mickey treated a few strands of hair at a time. Mickey advises his stylists who want to be certified that they must commit to the treatments time-consuming methods. If you don’t have the right mental attitude for extreme detail, Mickey advises against going through the intensive training. Mickey now has 15 of his day spa's hairstylists certified in the method.

 

The manufacturer of the Keratin Complex Hair Therapy by Coppola requires that stylists become certified so as to guarantee results, and Angela Regus of Yost Studios (pictured) trains other hairstylists in Nevada on the process.

 

Treatments performed at Yost Studios range from $350-$450. Mickey says his clients can no longer live without it.
