WORLD
POKER TOUR® HAS RETURNED TO BELLAGIO
The
World Poker Tour® (WPT) has returned to the Bellagio for the Doyle Brunson Five
Diamond World Poker Classic running Nov. 28 –Dec. 19. The three-week event,
created by Bellagio to pay tribute to Doyle “Texas Dolly” Brunson, who won 10
World Champion bracelets since 1876, consists of 10 No Limit Hold ‘em
tournaments, seven super satellites and a Senior’s No Limit contest.
The entry fees for all
tournaments range from $1,500-$5,000 and the WPT main event, to be held Dec. 13
–19, requires a $15,000 entry fee. The champion will receive the first place
prize money as well as a $25,000 seat in the April 2009 WPT World Championship
at Bellagio.
The ClubWPT event, which
premiered during the Festa al Lago VI tournament in October, will be held
Wednesday, Dec. 17 and is open to all professional and amateur poker players.

The 2007 tournament attracted
a Bellagio tournament-record of 664 players for a total prize pool of more than
$9.6 million and the 26-year-old winner Eugene Katchalov took home $2,482,605.

Sports Net (FSN) as part of the WPT Season VII television lineup, scheduled to
begin airing during the FSN Sunday night sports block in 2009.
Silverton keeps booking
headliners
The
Silverton has brought live entertainment back to the
property in a big way at a newly constructed 13,000-square-foot, $1 million
entertainment pavilion.
Country crooner Blake
Shelton, who made his musical debut with “Austin,” a single that spent five
weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs list, will headline during
rodeo week on Saturday, Dec. 13 at 10 p.m. Shelton has charted 13 singles on
the country charts and
released
five albums. Tickets are $35.
The Pointer Sisters, an
award-winning pop and R&B recording act that achieved mainstream success during
the 70s and 80s, will take center stage on Dec. 26. In recent years, the group
has performed with some of the greatest symphony orchestras in the world.

Impressionist,
singer and entertainer Gordie Brown, who is currently touring with Celine Dion,
will begin performances Feb. 5, 2009, at the Golden Nugget in the 600-seat
showroom renamed in his honor. Brown will perform Tuesdays through Saturdays at
7:30 p.m. with a live band. Tickets prices will be tiered and range from $39.95
to $99.95 for front row VIP tickets, which include an artist meet and greet,

The Monster
Circus will take place at the Las Vegas Hilton showroom on Dec. 9 with a troupe
of some of rock music’s greatest players. The Monster Circus combines solid
musicianship
with
fire-eaters, sexy dancers and other surprises all to benefit Toys for Tots. The
all-star line up features: Bruce Kulick (KISS), John Corabi (Motley Crüe, Ratt),
Rudy Sazro (Ozzy Osbourne, Quiet Riot, Whitesnake, Dio), Tony Montana (Great
White), Bobby Rock (Slaughter, Vinnie Vincent Invasion) and special guests Dee
Snider of Twisted Sister, and - just added - Dave Kushner (Velvet Revolver).

unwrapped toy for the Toys for Tots organization.
The Canyon Club at the Four
Queens downtown has comedian Jeff Allen headlining next Friday, Dec. 12 at 9:30

Sony Pictures Television’s
“Jeopardy,” which is celebrating its 25th season, will be filming live at the
Las Vegas Convention Center on Jan. 8, 9 and 10 during the CES convention.
The
show will be filmed on a 16,000-square-foot set next to Sony's booth at the show
and seat 600 fans. The episodes
being
filmed will introduce the show’s new set and also promote a new interactive game
called “Play Jeopardy Live.”
Philippine singer Imelda
Papin will be headlining at the Orleans Showroom with Ron Dante, lead singer of
The Archies and The Cufflinks and producer of Barry Manilow, Pat Benatar and
Cher, on Dec. 27 at 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $40.
The Tropicana will present
American Funk, Rock and R&B Legends - WAR on Tuesday, Dec. 30 at 8 p.m. in the

“The Comedy Stop” at the
Tropicana will be closed Dec. 18-25 and the “Folies Bergere” will be dark Dec.

“Jersey Boys,” which recently
marked six months of successful performances at The Palazzo, has welcomed Deven
May to the role of Tommy DeVito as cast member Erik Bates left to return to the
show’s national tour. No stranger to the show, May is well known for his
portrayal of DeVito from the first national tour.
The eclectic traveling Las
Vegas Showgirl Art Competition Exhibition, which is a tribute to the iconic Las
Vegas showgirl, is on display at the Nevada State Museum in Lorenzi Park though
mid-August 2009. Among the artifacts is designer Bob Mackie’s “Blue Cage”
costume from the “Jubilee!” finale.
