Don't Cancel Christmas!
Businesses are closing and cut-backs abound. Folks are being laid off or forced into early retirement. I heard a rumor that Stations Casinos who usually give their employees a $25 grocery gift card, gave a 25% discount certificate good at any Goodwill Store. I hope this is not true but it was told to me by a Stations poker dealer who always looked forward to the $25 worth of groceries. If it is true, shame on you Stations Casinos!
'Tis the season not to be spending a lot of money, but don't cancel Christmas! I have some great ideas for you from friends of mine. One has a big family. Mom, the monarch usually fixes the Christmas feast and all exchange gifts. This year, everyone is bringing a dish and the gifts will be imaginary - a Christmas of wishes if you will. The gifts will be presented however the gift giver chooses, gift wrapped, in a stocking, in a sock, in an envelope. The gifts will be hand written, what the giver would like to give to the receiver. So this year, new cars, homes, computers, yachts, it's imaginary, so anything goes!
Another idea is to have a re-gift year. For example, I have a pink laptop case
that is very gently used. Lady Pink has a laptop computer but no case, so the
pink computer case is perfect for her. I have a pair of poker earrings that
another friend loves. She will get those earrings for Christmas.

So, don't cancel Christmas this year. What goes up must come down - look at the
price of gas! It will get better, just you wait and see.
