The attack on Pearl Harbor was a pre-emptive military strike on the United States Pacific Fleet base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii

 

 

 

 

 

by the Empire of Japan's Imperial Japanese Navy, on the morning of Sunday, December 7, 1941 that made the United States enter World War II. Two aerial attack waves, totaling 350 aircraft, were launched from six aircraft carriers with the intent to destroy the United States Pacific Fleet. The attack wrecked two U.S. Navy battleships, one minelayer, and two destroyers beyond repair, and destroyed 188 aircraft; personnel losses were 2,333 killed and 1,139 wounded.  Damaged warships included three cruisers, a destroyer, and six battleships (one deliberately grounded, later refloated and repaired; two sunk at their berths, later raised, repaired, and restored to Fleet service late in the war)President Roosevelt delivered his "Day of Infamy" speech to a joint session of Congress on December 8, 1941.  Learn more HERE

The Monster Circus Rocks Las Vegas

With a One of A Kind Show and Toy Drive

 

 

For one night only under the “big top” in the Las Vegas Hilton showroom, the Monster Circus rolls into town on Tuesday, December 9 with a troupe of some of rock music’s greatest players for a one-of-a-kind rock show.  On the same stage where the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll, Elvis Presley, performed, the Monster Circus combines solid musicianship with fire-eaters, sexy dancers and other surprises all to benefit Toys for Tots. 

The all-star line up, performing powerhouse rock anthems of the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s features: Bruce Kulick (KISS), John Corabi (Motley Crüe, Ratt), Rudy Sazro (Ozzy Osbourne, Quiet Riot, Whitesnake, Dio), Tony Montana (Great White), Bobby Rock (Slaughter, Vinnie Vincent Invasion) and special guests Dee Snider of Twisted Sister, and - just added - Dave Kushner (Velvet Revolver).

Catch the Monster Circus at the Las Vegas Hilton Showroom on Tuesday, December 9.  Doors open at 5 p.m. and the show starts at 6:30 p.m. In conjunction with Rockstar Energy Drink and the National Guard, admission is free (21 and over, please) and everyone is encouraged to donate an unwrapped toy for the Toys for Tots organization.

Kicks Off its 7th Annual Fill the Truck Toy Drive at Hennessey’s Tavern
 

 

 

Firefighters and foundation volunteers will be collecting new, unwrapped toys and gift cards on Saturdays and Sundays (December 6-7, 13-14 and 20-21) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at any of the four designated Wal-Mart locations:

8060 West Tropical Parkway, located off of Centennial Parkway and Highway 95

1807 West Craig Road, located at Martin Luther King Drive

5200 South Fort Apache, located at Tropicana Ave

540 Marks St, located at I-95 and Sunset
