A week after having the worst week-end in the season and a half of The Star Picks, I, last week had my best' when after losing my top pick, I went 6 and 0 to finish 6 wins 1 loss, plus 13½ stars.............. bringing the season numbers after 9 weeks to 24 wins 20 losses 3 ties, plus 8½  stars

I guess I was due for an 0fer. My humblest apologies. Perhaps my readers can take some solace in knowing that I backed those awful selections with my own cash and found a couple of extra slugs all of which contributed to one of the worst Sunday's (bankrollwise) I can remember. Undaunted I shall press on with this weeks attempt at redemption.

Saints PK    I have Falcons underrated, thats a given; but they'll just have to prove me wrong one more time. I’m sure the Saints never expected to be looking up at the Atlanta in the standings this late in the season. I expect this selection to Brees on in.

Carolina -9  I hate laying points with this team but the Raiders organization is trying to give the Lions a run for their money in the incompetency dept. Al Davis is certifiable; the new coach must be wondering whether he;ll be paid when he's fired and they just got shutout at home by Atlanta. Its just a forced go against.

Ravens +1½   The better team, the far better defense going against a mistake prone outfit with their 2nd string QB. Wrong favorite perhaps?
