Camp Lee Canyon


The Camp is nestled among the Ponderosa pines of the Lee Canyon area on 17 acres of land provided through a Special Use Permit with the U.S. Forest Service in the scenic surroundings of Toiyabe National Forest. The Charleston mountain range and the Lee Canyon area contain hiking trails, Ponderosa pines and a collective assortment of animals such as deer, elk, eagles, hawks and owls, which are indigenous to this alpine setting. The canyon’s summer climate has a 76/40 degree temperature range with moderate rainfall and occasional thundershowers in late July and early August. An average winter brings a 30/-5 degree temperature variance with a 3-10 foot average snowfall.

Camp Potosi

Camp Potosi is located only about 20 miles west of Las Vegas, off of Route 160. The camp elevation is 6,000 feet, and temperatures are normally 20 degrees cooler than Las Vegas. The facility is well maintained and a perfect place for group retreats in a scenic high desert setting. Facility amenities include a Recreation Hall that can accommodate up to 50 people. The building contains a fireplace, tables, chairs and restroom. Other areas within the camp include a picnic area with tables, charcoal grill, campfire ring with benches, restrooms and a hiking trail. Wildlife, common to the area includes deer, burros, fox, lizards, ground squirrels and rabbits. Among the vegetation native to this high desert zone are pinyon pine, juniper, agave, yucca, prickly pear cactus, sagebrush, Mormon tea, black brush and Apache plume. Camp Potosi is available for group rentals. Overnight camping is not allowed.
