CatHouse Loungerie's ceiling comes down on partygoers

The roof, the roof, the roof is on...a line-backer! Right around 1:15 a.m., late Monday night, February 25, a portion of the ceiling at CatHouse cracked during a Nightclub & Bar Show party celebrating Ty Ku aphrodisiac liqueur. No one was injured but the ceiling in the far left-hand corner of the Loungerie was said to have ruptured over NFL player Dhani Jones.

"They walked everyone out of the Loungerie space, but no reason was given," says one partygoer who added that the unfortunate event was handled in a "pretty orderly" fashion. "Lights just came on, music stopped, party transferred," and the quests were then evacuated for safety. Said another partygoer, "...everyone was cleared out of the space. Crazy!"

"Our party was so packed, we broke the club!" said Ty Ku creator Kirk Spahn, finding the unavoidable humor in the situation. "Ty Ku knows how to rock!...I think."

In a statement issued today, CatHouse representatives report that "CatHouse closed early this morning due to a structural issue in the ultra-lounge portion of the venue. While an inspection and repairs are in progress, the ultra-lounge will be closed to the public. The restaurant also will be temporarily closed to the public. More information, along with reopening dates, is forthcoming."

Bottom line: better to have roof in your drink than roofies! Stay tuned also to find out the fate of Monday, March 3rd's Madame Monday hosted by Xania Woodman of The Circuit.
