Volunteer Program

A volunteer is someone who gives their time, talent, energy, skills, and experience for which no payment is received. Volunteering is spending the precious gift of spare time out of concern and belief that we share the responsibility for others in the community. Volunteering is essential to a society that is dynamic and free.

Volunteers are an important part of the services that the Parks and Recreation Department offers. Volunteers offer their time in our parks, recreation centers, special events, conducting Wetlands tours, working with seniors, working with organized sports and with children. Because of volunteers, the Department is able to offer a balance of no-cost, low-cost, and self-supporting programs that serve all parts of the community.
