The World Poker Association

I am strong believer in the World Poker Association. I also am a strong believer in the Power of Attraction. Jesse Jones, founder of the WPA has worked so hard and with such determination for what he believes in as a tournament poker player, that I believe he can make it happen, or at the very least, get the wheels in motion. It sounds like a long shot, hell it is a long shot, but long shots have come in before and they will again. If we all get behind Jesse, this goal is within our reach. The following is my latest news from Jesse. If you are not a member of the WPA, please join and help us as poker players, get a piece of the huge financial pie that the popularity of poker is generating.

Dear Susie,

The new leadership under Founder and present Chairman of the WPA, Jesse Jones, has taken immediate measures to address the needs of the over 1400 members who have joined the WPA to date.

What Players Need

It's a disgrace that tournament poker players for the most part do not share the revenue generated by their participation in events (e.g. television, sponsorship, etc). In most or all events players put in all of the prize money via the buy-in, have 6-10% of their money taken out, and only a small number of participants make a payday. Any revenue generated by sponsors or other means is not shared with you the players. This is something we must change. This is the WPA's principal focus. This is why you joined the WPA. This is why we need your support. Our promise to you is that within the next six months, we will work to change the present reality of tournament poker worldwide. We will complete the writing of the rules that you want to see and we will work to change how you share in poker tournament income.

Significant Membership Changes

The WPA highly values the initial and ongoing support of our more 1400 members and we have reflected this in a raft of significant membership initiatives, including: All Founding Members become Lifetime WPA members, i.e. pay no additional membership fee. New members pay only a one time fee to become a permanent WPA member. For these and other improvements, go to www.wpapoker.org.

WPA FOUNDER

Our Founder's personal commitment: Jesse Jones founded the WPA for the good of the poker community at large. Jesse committed $100,000 of his personal funds to cover the costs associated with starting this not-for-profit organization. He commits his full time efforts to coordinating all the activities and personnel needed to stablish the WPA as the worldwide governing body for tournament poker. He is not paid for his efforts, nor does he ever expect to be paid. Every poker player in the world is needed as a member to make the WPA a success. Spread the word with your friends, via your website, in your blogs.

Sincerely,
Jesse Jones
