THE SECRET HISTORY OF MICHAEL POLITZ: TRAPPED IN THE GREENSPUN CYCLE

Gather around, my children, and listen as I relate to you my history here in Las Vegas – the reason I so often find myself at odds with the un-welcoming muckety-mucks who seem to think they own this town. As many of you have seen firsthand, most of my woes can be directly traced to abuses and defamation of my character perpetrated by representatives of Greenspun Media.

Before I became your intrepid publisher, I was a humble reporter for various national magazines paid to cover this beautiful city and all of its entertainment glory. One day, long ago I was on assignment for The Star Magazine to cover CineVegas at The Palms. The Star had all arrangements taken care of beforehand. However, I discovered my CineVegas media credentials that were previously approved, had been revoked without explanation
or warning.

No one would explain what happened. However, I later learned from The Star Magazine West Coast Bureau Chief Brenda You that Kim Dixon, a founder of Dominion 3 PR  had ordered the credential revocation under direct instructions from Las Vegas based Kirvin Doak Pr Company on behalf of their client CineVegas. (Which is owned and operated by Greenspun Media.) I later discovered that a phone call to The Star Magazine had been made by Dominion 3 asking for a different reporter. False accusations were leveled against me, including a false allegation that I stole bottles of liquor from parties. It is common knowledge here in Vegas that I only drink diet soda and water… In my attempt for a resolution, I sent numerous emails and made phone calls to the owners of Greenspun Media and received no response back. Then my sources started telling me CineVegas affiliate and actor Dennis Hopper was talking about me at his dinner parties. To this day there is still no apology for any of this slander. I even volunteered to be frisked to prove I did not steal a bottle of anything.

Those of you who think CineVegas is the Cannes of Nevada are deluding yourselves. These guys have more in common with CineBuns than Cannes.

I know CineVegas was once billed as the most dangerous film festival in a food court, but it’s known to many of us in Las Vegas as “Robyn’s Super Sweet Sixteen.” Robyn Greenspun is the spouse of Danny Greenspun who with his brother and sister inherited the Greenspun fortune including media and real estate Companies that their father had built.

I lay the blame for my troubles and deliberate humiliation at Robyn’s feet. Being in charge of CineVegas she has a responsibility to keep everything civil and make sure her people act fairly toward others. Instead, she has constantly misused her authority to advance and protect her own interests. Against people who have no defense against her tactics. It’s sad because Robyn could have been a real artistic force and done a lot of good – for someone other than herself. She disappoints, and Las Vegas is all the more mediocre because of it.

Will lightning strike twice? first step taken for GUNS N' ROSES

Are you ready for a full-throttle, all-out, Guns N' Roses reunion? With Axl, Slash, Izzy, Duff and Steve Adler? It’s coming. Watch the skies.

That’s right. The band -- formed in LA in 1985 – is expected to be firing on all cylinders when it unveils it’s “All Star” lineup in the coming months. Guns N' Roses has released five studio albums, two EPs, one live album, and three music video DVDs and sold an estimated 90 million albums worldwide – 40 million of it in the US -- but its story is far from over.
Adler’s stint in Dr. Drew’s TV rehab cleared the way for him to get back on board with the band and get really serious. Keep your eyes peeled for announcements in the next few months. You will NEVER believe where they’re going to perform.

Can’t tell you any more than that just yet. But it’s going to rock. I promise you.

TATTOO NIGHTCLUB IDEA REPLACED BY CHRISTIAN AUDIGIER NIGHTCLUB

Word on the street is that the Tangerine nightclub space at Treasure Island was originally supposed to be a tattoo shop and nightclub collaboration with Pure Management and Miami Ink, TLC's hot show about the art and drama of tattooing. But that well apparently ran dry a few months ago. The club space is now going to be branded with the first Pure Management-run Christian Audigier nightclub complete with a rumored designer store attached. (Instead of the aforementioned proposed tattoo shop.) The Audigier name is taken from the French fashion designer and entrepreneur. Audigier has designed for such brands as American Eagle Outfitters , Diesel , Lee, Levi's, Liberto, Kookai, Von Dutchand Naf Naf . Audigier is the designer of Ed Hardy. Gets us wondering ...  We know they will carry Audigier's wines there. Is it possible Ed Hardy's energy drinks could be there as well? We ask because we're always interested in watching the career o a man who didn't have to marry an MGM executive to get his product in circulation. (Cough! Cough! Sin City Beer!! Cough!!)

"WILL YOU LET ME INTO YOUR MIND?"

Saturday afternoon sizzled as NBA players headed to The Strip’s sexiest pool paradise, Venus Pool Club, for an afternoon of sophistication under the sun. Antoine Wright of the Dallas Mavericks, Jermaine O’Neal of the Indiana Pacers and Al Harrington and Patrick O'Bryant of the Golden State Warriors arrived together around noon with a following of fortunate females. The entourage enjoyed items from the pool’s phenomenal menu, including a turkey triple decker sandwich and chicken-mozzarella paninis, as they enjoyed the superior service and ambiance of the adults-only pool oasis. Later on in the evening, O’Neal landed at LAX Nightclub at Luxor where he and friends sipped on champagne and kicked back at a lush VIP table near the DJ booth on the club’s stage. Nearby sat mystifier and soon-to-be Las Vegas headliner Criss Angel, who enjoyed Montecristo rum and Coke cocktails throughout the evening.

THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING POLITZ

I have a bit of a problem. Apparently I have been selected to receive the Congressional Medal of Distinction on June 17 in Washington. I got a letter about it this week informing me a special reception had been arranged for me and a guest along with Republican members of the House of Representatives. But THAT’s not the problem. My problem is … Which adult film actress should I ask to be my date?

I'M KEVIN JAMES, BEE-YOTCH!

I know Kevin James was fantastic in his role on the “King Of Queens” but didn’t he also write “Turn Of The Screw” and compose and sing “Superfreak” back in the 70s? Or was that Henry James who did “Superfreak” (Henry was a stone PIMP, ya'all!) and Rick James who wrote “Turn of The screw?” Boy I’m getting confused. Let’s just say Kevin dined at The Mirage hot spot STACK Restaurant & Bar at The Mirage on Wednesday evening with two other friends and shared the spicy wings, hot rocks dish and yellowtail sashimi. For dinner, James enjoyed the magnum filet with creamed spinach on the side and for dessert – the table enjoyed the mini doughnut munchkin holes. Kevin -- you're one heck of a talented guy!!!
