His voice is deep,
and sometimes scary
This talented man,
my mama did marry
When we were born,
he didn't fully
understand
That being a father,
made him, more than
a man
His name is
DADDY |
|
|
He goes to work,
likes the games on
TV
Tries to give
everything, to his
growing family
When things get
broken, mama calls
his name
His children soon
learned, to do the
very same thing
DADDYYYY!!!! |
|
|
Sometimes they go
away, there's a
sense of deep loss
If mommy remarries,
there's a new man,
around the house
DADDY?????? |
|
|
What life is, what
life was, daddy is
as daddy does
Every daddy didn't
plant the seed.
He grew to love the
children, He takes
care of their needs
He bar b q's on
holidays, he teaches
us to drive
He intimidates new
boyfriends, looking
mean straight, in
their eyes
Yet he hugs and
kisses mama, with a
warmth and gentle
grace
When he talks about
his children, the
smile takes over his
face
DADDY |
|
|
He answers to a lot
of names, Father,
Pops, Old Man
And he's always
here, to lend a
helping hand
He ate a lot, and
gained some weight
Mama smiles and
calls him "FATTY"
No matter how big or
small his size
He'll always be my
DADDY |
