Hoop Time
The Positive ROI 5”, Butler, Drake, Louisville, New Mexico and Davidson went 5-0 SU and 4-1 ATS this past week.
Meanwhile, our other Bulldogs, Drake, begin play in their conference (Missouri Valley) quarterfinals after sitting out the 1st round with a bye and like Butler are a lock for the NCAA's, because like Butler, a win in the finals or their season record will get them a trip to the big dance…..
New Mexico after a 14 point thumping of UNLV on Tuesday stand to get a high seeding or by virtue of their conference record even a bye, in the Mountain West conference finals which begin Wednesday at the Thomas and Mack. Win or lose their finals, the Lobos should still get an invite to March Madness because of their record.
Davidson, another that will receive a bye in their conference (Southern) opening round of play will also, will win or loose, get an invite, when the 64 (65) teams are selected on March 16th.
Which brings us to Louisville. The Cardinals are deadlocked with Georgetown, atop the tough Big East. Louisville, fittingly enough, closes out the season against the Hoyas tomorrow night in Georgetown.
On Wednesday the Big East begins their grueling conference finals that run for 4 consecutive nights. Louisville is still another, that, win or lose the finals should be part of March Madness in addition to maybe 3 other Big East teams.
For the season the “Pos 5” stand at --- 97-36 SU --- 72-43 / 62½ % ATS.
More on conference finals next week. Till then... "Nothing but Net!" |

The
regular season is winding down and the conference finals begin.
In fact 2nd round play in the Horizon Conference
begins tonight (Friday.) Our “Little Team That Could”, Butler,
will begin play in tomorrow night's semi finals, after sitting
out the opening two rounds of the league’s finals by virtue of a
bye (actually two!) What a big plus, having to win only 2 games
to reign once more as conference champs. Either way they’re a
cinch to go to the big dance, either by winning the conference
or because of their record….
