The arrows that pierce you the most are the ones released from your own bow. Self-doubt and self-hatred — these are your biggest obstacles in life.

Learning to love yourself is essential if you want to be somebody in this life. And that's not just "Pollyanna" self-help talk either. The Light of the Creator is within you. It is your true essence. Recognizing this is not arrogant or egotistical. On the contrary, not recognizing your inner light is a denial of the Creator's Light.

Today, cast yourself in a favorable Light. See yourself as the good person you truly are

Everything we possess — physically, emotionally, spiritually — is a gift we've been given for the purpose of sharing. Whether it's talent, time, or money — there's a specific reason we have it. If we don't use and share it, then there is the danger we may lose it. This isn't my idea, this comes straight from the sages.

Today, check in with all the tangible and intangible things in your possession, and look to see if you are generous with them. If you make proper use of the gifts you were given, you can get into a loop of fulfillment that will keep you out of the dark and in the Light.

In speaking with someone, how do you know if you are speaking from your ego or your soul?

Intention. What is in your consciousness - are you thinking to give or take? Is your mind calculating ways to hurt or get something from the person, or are you in the flow of the moment and thinking about how you can help and share with the person in front of you?

Check in today. When you are negotiating with colleagues, making dinner plans with your girlfriend, or just paying for your frappacino, check in and see where your head is at. Be honest and check in with your true intention to determine who's talking - your soul or your ego.

The tests of life aren't sent here to punish us, but to elevate us to a higher level. When we are faced with overwhelming pain, we want to remember [to the best of our ability] to love every moment. Because as I've said many a time, the road to heaven begins in hell.

The spiritual rule of thumb is: the more we love the uncomfortable moments, the more lovable moments we will have.

What pain are you facing today? Think of some possible positive reasons for why you need to confront this situation, now, at this point in your life. As bad as it may be, inject excitement into your consciousness by telling yourself this "terrible" moment you are facing was sent here to bring you something "beautiful."

The kabbalists teach that desire is a vessel that holds the Light. When our passion wanes, so goes the Light. This pretty much sums up a lot of negative patterns in our lives; we have a lack that stimulates our desire, our desire draws Light, we lose our passion, we fall back into lack, our craving is reawakened, and so on and so forth.

How do we get off this merry-misery-go-round of profit and loss?

A person with a true desire for life has an appreciation of what he has, yet he still craves more. He knows he is in possession of wonderful gifts but he also knows they can disappear at any moment. He feels full and empty at the same time.

Today, appreciate what you have. All of it.
