Celebrate our Birthdays with us!!

SOMETIMES YOU WANT TO GO WHERE EVERYBODY KNOWS
YOUR NAME

KRAVE,
an alternative lifestyle nightclub at
Miracle Mile
Shops, has been named the
“Best Gay / Alternative Bar” by a local newspaper. The
alternative lifestyle hot-spot is noted for its
interesting themed nights including
CandyBar
Thursdays, Tigerheat Fridays and regular wet
boxer contests. I’m guessing
"WET
BOXER" is the man-love version
of “Wet T-Shirt” contests.
MY HOTTIE VALENTINE

Jaime King,
the smoking hot breakout actress from
“Sin City,”
has been cast in a remake of the 1981 slasher film “My Bloody Valentine.” The new
film, changed to “My
Bloody Valentine 3-D” will tell
the story of a murderer who slaughters people
celebrating
Valentine's
Day. The magnificent Jaime will
play Sarah Palmer, a woman who has married her
teenage sweetheart's nemesis, and the two have a
child together. When she and her first love are
reunited, it becomes evident she is still
carrying a torch for him.

VEGASHD IS BRINGING FOCUS TO SIN CITY
Okay,
now. Everyone clap their hands and give
my dear friend
and mentor Robin Leach some
love. He’s gone to great lengths to make sure
what happens in Vegas won’t be staying in Vegas
much longer.
High-Definition television is in the hiz-ouse.
VegasHD, which Robin had a huge
role in forming, has created a full-scale,
mobile, high-definition television production
facility based here. Permanent HD broadcast
studios will be posted at key locations in town
to shoot and deliver the signal anywhere in the
known universe.
VegasHD will
make its production facilities available to
national and international production companies,
network television productions and news
programs.
Jim
Rutledge, who founded VegasHD with Robin,
said transmitting quality broadcast
signals out
The City That Never Sleeps has
been problematic over the years, forcing many
networks to drive their satellite trucks here
from
Los Angeles to make sure they
have the capacity to broadcast.
But now, Rutledge said, the innovations of
VegasHD signify a “great opportunity for us to create a
turn-key broadcast production facility at the
heart of
the Las Vegas
Strip and elevate the standard
of Las Vegas television production."
The sites were selected to offer broadcast
partners premium views of Las Vegas and a
variety of exciting backdrops. The first site is
located inside
the new Trader Vic's restaurant at the Planet
Hollywood Resort Casino.
It features a 2,400 square foot patio that faces
the
Las Vegas Strip. The patio is
slightly elevated and allows for unobstructed
views of the Bellagio fountains, Caesars Palace, Paris Las Vegas and the new
MGM
City
Center.
With the
High-Definition Mobile Vehicle Producer unit
(MVP), developed by
Sony
Electronics, production will
really quantum leap into the future. The HD MVP
will be unveiled during
the 2008
National Association of Broadcasters convention
in Las Vegas in April. The
mobile production unit is smaller than standard
production vehicles, and while designed to fit
inside the close confines of a casino resort
freight elevator, it packs a full HD production
suite.

RED BULL, STRIP HOUSE AND THE YUMMY OBAMA GIRL
The Obama Girl rocks. But more on her later.
There's been a whole lot of other stuff going on
in Vegas that we need to tell you about first.
Las
Vegas-based Singer-songwriter Shauna Burns
went in studio at
local radio
station
KLAV (AM 1230)
last week for an interview with
Meg
Gerard, host of
“Vegas Rocks”
show. The two
Sin City
residents discussed all things
music including Burns sophomore album
The Moon And
The Fire Circle
and its current single
“Around You” which is in the Top 15 (12*) of the AC
radio chart.
Sin City
fans will get to see Burns live
on April 6th, when she performs at the opening
of a
Borders Books at
Town Square
Burns kicked off her tour last month with shows
in Portland and Seattle. Currently scheduled are
performances at
The Blue Café
in Long Beach, CA on April 30th
and at the
Utah Renaissance Faire Festival
on May 16-18. Additional dates should be
announced soon.
On to
the subject of good food. This
is a huge “duh” to anyone who’s ever been there,
but the celebrity site People.com has named
Strip
House inside Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino a
“celebrity hot spot.” It’s also
one of the top ten new restaurants in Las Vegas
by
Citysearch and Zagat’s
Best of Las Vegas 2008.
Again,
this is news right up there with “fire is bad”
on the simplistic scale but it’s
good to see
Strip House
get its props as a really cool
place to eat. Patrons are surrounded by 421
black and white photos plus a blend of silks,
leathers and rosy lighting. Nice atmosphere.
Restaurateurs
Peter, Penny and Mathew Glazier and Executive
Chef John Schenk worked hard to
have
Strip House
redefine the traditional steak house with prime
cuts of beef charred to perfection, signature
side dishes, and an extensive wine first. Not to
mention the famed 24-layer chocolate cake.
Kudos, guys.
Now. How's about a little
Red Bull
to wash that steak down?
The company
that produces the stuff that gives you wings is
reportedly gearing up to launch a natural cola
brand in seven countries.
"Red Bull
Simply Cola" will be available
in the 200 ml Red Bull slim can as well as a 355
ml version and represents the first major
brand extension for the company since the
introduction of
Sugar-Free Red
Bull.
The all-natural cola will contain
Kola
nut and Coca leaf and natural caffeine derived
from coffee beans. It will
reportedly be marketed using the tagline
“Strong and
Natural." A little too mellow to give you wings,
I guess.
Our
pendulum of topics now swings from wings to
psychics.
Want
to get your psychic wheels realigned?
The original
Ghost Whisperer himself,
(NO, not Jennifer Love Hewitt) John Edward of
"Crossing Over
With john Edward"
and "John Edward Cross Country"
will perform at
the Flamingo April 13 and May 25. CAREFUL FOLKS:
He sees dead people.
Venturing
into Las Vegas territory soon will be comedian
Dane Cook, who will perform at
The Coliseum at Caesars Palace over the extended
Memorial Day weekend, May 23-25.
The performances are presented jointly by
Caesars Palace and
AEG
Live and tickets go on sale Saturday,
March 29. Cook first caught national attention
in 2006 when his sophomore comedy CD/DVD,
Retaliation, debuted at #4 on
the Billboard
200. The album has since gone
double platinum. He went on to create, direct
and star in
HBO's
nine-part comedy documentary series, Tourgasm.
In addition to appearing in
numerous TV programs and motion pictures, Cook
was named the winner of
Comedy
Central's Standup Showdown, was named Rolling
Stone Magazine's "Hot Comic," and was included
in Time Magazine's list of the world's 100 "Most
Influential People."
Not
everyone has been working this past week.
Oakland Raiders wide receiver Javon Walker
relaxed poolside yesterday at
Bare
Pool Lounge at The Mirage
sipping on virgin
strawberry
daiquiris. Walker bought friends and a table of
admiring females a bottle of Grey Goose and
Raspberry Mojitos.
And on a closing note, we'd like to pay tribute
to the smoking-hot
babealicious Obama Girl, AKA 24-year-old actress
and model Amber Lee Ettinger.
The young beauty seductively sings of her love
for
Democratic Presidential candidate Barack Obama
in a popular internet viral video,
“I Got a Crush
… on Obama,” first broadcast on
YouTube in June. Well, she
doesn’t exactly SING – she lip synchs to lyrics
sung by
Leah Kauffman.
But WHO CARES? God Bless You, amazing-looking
Obama Girl.
