Awesome is the best word to describe the new production in the new Jersey Boys Showroom at THE PALAZZO. The performers are absolute perfection in their portrayal of Frankie Valli and his original group that eventually became the Four Seasons. The show has wonderful music, comedy, pathos, and is a wonderful evening of entertainment.
JERSEY BOYS is the story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons: Frankie Valli, Bob Gaudio, Tommy DeVito and Nick Massi (now deceased). It tells how a group of blue-collar boys from the wrong side of the tracks became one of the biggest American pop music sensations of all time. They wrote their own songs, invented their own sounds and sold 175 million records worldwide - all before they were thirty. The show features such hits as “Sherry,” “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” “Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You,” “Oh, What a Night,” and many more. The audience went wild.

The new PALAZZO Hotel-Casino sparkled as the stars came out to celebrate the Opening Night of the hit show. It was not only a huge moment for Las Vegas entertainment, but also for one of its most iconic entertainers as Frankie Valli celebrated his 74th birthday. Following a rousing Opening Night performance, Valli and the remaining original Four Seasons - legendary songwriter & producer Bob Gaudio and Las Vegas resident Tommy DeVito, enjoyed a VIP Gala celebration. The stars of JERSEY BOYS led the crowd in a special rendition of “Happy Birthday” as Valli was presented with a large record-shaped chocolate cake. Wayne Brady, John Cleese, Nigel Lythgoe, John O’Hurley, Sex & the City’s Willie Garson, Ugly Betty’s Michael Urie, Comedienne Rita Rudner and the President of Las Vegas Sands Corporation Sheldon Adelson were also on hand for the festivities.
JERSEY BOYS opened to rave reviews on November 6, 2005 and continues to be one of the top grossing shows on Broadway. JERSEY BOYS is the winner of four 2006 Tony Awards® including Best Musical. The original Broadway cast recording on Rhino Records won the Grammy Award for Best Show Recording and remains one of the best-selling show CDs in the US. I sat behind one of the investors of the show. She had seen the show five times in different venues and said she loves the Las Vegas version best of all. JERSEY BOYS performs at THE PALAZZO Monday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday at 7 p.m.; Tuesday and Saturday at 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. and dark on Wednesday. A must see!

BOBBY BACALA crashed THE SOPRANOS LAST SUPPER Birthday bash when Steve Schirripa who played Bobby Bacala in The Sopranos, muscled in on The Sopranos Last Supper’s 2nd birthday celebration at THE RIVIERA HOTEL.

One wouldn’t think a really special birthday present would be a “visit” from a real “SOPRANOS”actor, but in this case The Sopranos Last Supper was “dying” to have this particular “family member”pay a visit. Steven R. Schirripa, the real Bobby Baccalieri, Jr from the multi-award-winning HBO TV series “The Sopranos” dropped in to help celebrate The Sopranos Last Supper 2nd Birthday Bash in style, mob-style. What’s really important, special even, is the fact that this ‘present’ didn’t fall off a truck, get delivered in pieces or come with a shovel and no one actually got bashed at the Bash. Actually, the now famous Steve Schirripa had been entertainment director at the RIVIERA for many years prior to his celebrated role in The Sopranos.

This 90-minute, fast-paced, laugh-out-loud-funny interactive show brings its guests into a world of glamour, deceit, murder, mayhem, and loads of fun. Guests sing, dance and party like no one is watching, with the best of the Sopranos gang. Like it or not, YOU could get “made into La Famiglia!”
