Community & Defending Freedom Donates to our Military
On April 26, 2008, the Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada and Defending Freedom.Net set out 11,220 boxes of Girl Scout cookies to Iraq and Afghanistan.
The GS asked the community to donate boxes to our military and the community responded with over 11,000 boxes. Nevada Benefits Corporation donated the funds to send the cookies over to the middle east.
The troops responded with many thanks and pictures.
Defending Freedom.Net is a 501 c 3 and is fully funded by it’s founder, Phil Randazzo. They donated over 1.3 million “Defending Freedom” wristbands to our military and dozens of Military non-profits.
Military non-profits receive the wristbands for free and are able to sell them as fundraiser and keep 100% of the money. Uhaul sold over 110,000 and donated more than $380,000 to the Wounded Warrior Project in 2006. the wristbands have helped raise over 1.2 million dollars for it’s charities.
On May 17, Defending Freedom and Randy Couture, UFC 5 time champion, are having a 5k raise to raise money for the Couture GI Foundation. Over 300 active duty military and over 200 civilians are “running” for our wounded heroes. For more information, please go to www.defendingfreedom.net.
