It's time to get down to the nitty gritty, with apologies to the Dirt Band.  Points is points and in the true spirit of the season, I am going to give rather than receive. Miami -2 vs. New England Am I nuts?  Maybe, but the Fins have had the Pats number for a few years now and Parcells is just waiting to make fish bait out of Belichick.  This spread is not a trap. Atlanta 1½ over Carolina. Home field means no hope for the big cats. Denver 9½ over Oakland The Raiders are pathetic.  The Broncos' defense is no box of chocolates, but their offense will overpower Oakland.  Broncos coach Milke Shanahan was fired by the Raiders' Al Davis and delights in running up the score every time they play.  I was close last time, it won't be this time. Happy Turkey, I just hope that's not how to describe my picks this week!! Casey Smith

STOP THE RACE........

Of course it was a foregone conclusion, but, "Hold the presses"........ Notify the same.............My life is now complete.......... If I was to "kick off" tomorrow, it would be with a smile on my face...........

I'm not going to say "I told you so" but I finally passed the Mouth in our personal bragging rights competition....... Even if he did not beg/ insist on a 4th game to blank with this past Sunday, I still would be in front (where I intend to stay) with a 13-11-3 .541 slate, to a 14-13 .518 (including two losing halfs)

Wait a “2 minute warning” why did the mouth get a handicap? What about me…. Is it because he’s younger (a lot) weighs less (a little) his brain is bigger (swollen perhaps….) or because he’s from Detroit? Hell, I spent 10 years there one year. At any rate, I’m taking this up with the union…. Do we even have a union???

Maybe we can "farm him out" to the Beauties (of course, they would have to change their name..........) Then perhaps, I can bask in the glory, as a "Lone Tout"....... or maybe we should change the  collective name of both teams, in the VCO Friday Football Forecast competition, to the affectionate name given to The Brooklyn Dodgers in the 1930s....... because, after a dismal week by the four of us (3 and 10) we should be "tarred and feathered and run out of town in a rail road car" I know they still have freight trains, but do they still "tar and feather"?

In my attempt to stay off the ole "B and O", I offer the following

It appears someONE other than the teams I've already denigrated also STINKS! Without good reasons I proffer up these "beauties" in an attempt to right the ship.

Panthers +1½ over the Falcons

Redskins -3½ (buy the 3) over the Seahawks

Saints -2½ over the Packers

P.S. Would have used Lions instead of Saints, but I barred myself.
