Nearly 500 Distinguished Guests to be in Attendance
The Georges have been influential in the growth of Opportunity Village as the premier local not-for-profit organization for individuals with physical and mental disabilities. Their son, Doug, has been an Opportunity Village client for more than 30 years and currently works at the organization’s Walters Campus in Henderson. Judge George has had an illustrious career in the field of law in Las Vegas and has the distinction of having the Federal Courthouse named in his honor.
Camelot has become the unofficial beginning to the holiday season at the Magical Forest. Attendees will include many distinguished guests from the Las Vegas law and political communities. The annual fundraising event will also feature entertainment from Mark Giovi, a founding member of the Las Vegas Tenors, as well as Ellie Smith, a 12 year old prodigy who has performed in front of arenas filled with thousands of spectators.
“Honoring Judge Lloyd and LaPrele George in this type of setting is just a small token of the gratitude for the decades of support they have given to Opportunity Village,” says Linda Smith, Resource Development Director. “They’ve been a part of the Opportunity Village family since its inception in 1954 and have seen it grow just as quickly as the city of Las Vegas,” she added.
Opportunity Village is a not-for-profit organization that serves people in our community with intellectual disabilities to enhance their daily lives and the lives of their families through job training, employment opportunities, recreation and advocacy.
