The Midnight Mystery is Solved!

Happy Happy Halloween to all ya'll! For those of you who have been following this blog, you know we have been working toward reuniting Midnight the cat with her mama, Doralee Rae aka Lady Pink, for over a week to solve the mystery of the catnapping. I have never laughed so much or had so much Halloween fun, ever. If you have not followed this story from the beginning, stop readying this scroll down to the blog of Oct. 20 titled "The Boo Party" for details and photos from the beginning of this Halloween saga.

For the reunion of Lady Pink and her beloved Midnight, another Boo Party was in order. Since Midnight somehow ended up at my house, it seemed only fitting that I host this Boo party. As is usual for any party at my house, the Sniffen Sisters put on the spread. BOY, can they cook! Thank you Sniffens.

The theme of this party was "Lady Pink Gets Her Pussycat Back!"

Yes, Midnight, a most unusual head spinning, meow screeching, black cat was discovered at my residence but I SWEAR I did not kidnap her. However, my business partner and friend Hermie was also in attendance at the original Boo Party which took place at Lady Pink's House of Fright. Even though a few witnesses have come forth stating that they saw Hermie leaving Lady Pink's party with a wiggling Halloween bag, she too swears she did not steal the pussy.

After 007 Tux got on the case and Lady Pink hired Bruiser, the private dick, Some very interesting background was discovered. Our dear, sweet, kind, gentle Hermie, also known as Hermie the Humble, has an evil twin! Hermie the Heister!

Lady Pink showed up with Bruiser in tow, just to be sure the exchange was made. We had a live reporter (Rowena's second job) from W-I-T-C-H TV for live coverage of the reunion. Were we ever shocked to the point of screams when the doorbell rang and we all expected to see a smiling, excited Lady Pink. Instead the door was opened to a very threatening and scary as hell Bruiser, the pink mummy! Honestly, scared the bee-gee-bees out of us! We not only gave her the cat back - we threw in the ransom and added more to assure our own safety!

Once the exchange was made and the party got going the funniest tale of the night was Dorelee telling about transporting Bruiser from the Westside of Las Vegas to the Eastside in her little blue BMW M Roadster, licence plate "I AM 4 FUN". As you can well imagine a beautiful woman wearing a HUGE Witch's hat with a HUGE orange feather on the hat, driving what appears to be a cute toy car, with a HUGE pink mummy sitting beside her, caused quite a stir from passing motorists. There was some hooting and hollering going on! Poor Lady Pink had a heck of a time and needed a few more hands in order to wave, to shift, to hold her hat on her head, and to keep her pink mummy in an upright position as he seemed to prefer the drivers seat! If you ever have the privilege of meeting Lady Pink, see if you can get her to mime that experience!

So, Midnight is home, Lady Pink is happy and all is well in Las Vegas this Halloween. BTW: No one has seen hide nor hair of Hermie the Heister since Bruiser had a little talk with her!

Time to Saddle Up and Head to Pendleton!

This is my favorite time of the year. On Tuesday I will head to Pendleton, Oregon for the Wildhorse Fall Poker Round-Up. For those of you who do not know (which means you haven't been keeping up with my blog or communicating with me in any way), the poker tournaments, every spring and fall, at the Wildhorse are the best on the tournament trail. That is not "one of the best" but THE BEST. The juice is $15 on every tournament and the casino adds from $1000 to $10,000 to every event. For this Fall Round-Up a total of $78,000 will be added to the prize pools. The satellites are juice-free and the players are fed every evening. We're talking a good hot meal, not a $10 food voucher which will often cover half the cost of a sandwich and a drink at other places.

Pendleton proper is a hoot. It is like stepping back into the fifties - Mayberry, RFD. The casino is 8 or 10 miles out so they offer a shuttle service which is terrific.

To top it off this fall, the Wildhorse is giving away a total of 14 poker cruises! These are eight-day Caribbean cruises. The package is worth $2000.

Many poker stars show up at Pendleton for these tournaments. They are laid back, fun, and affordable. Buy-ins run from $100 for Super Satellites to $1,000 for the main event.

It's not too late, call Billie or Ernie at 541-966-1549. If there is "no room at the inn" they will help you get a room close by and as I said, the shuttle service is terrific.

One more thing I love about these tournaments, Tournament Director Roland Waters has added a variety of games to the schedule: H.O.RS.E., limit hold'em, stud eight-or-better, Omaha-eight, S.H.O.E. and a blackjack tournament, not to mention a fun ladies event. In Pendleton no male would even consider trying to enter a ladies event, especially in drag! He probably would be hung at dawn!

Join me in the fun. I have several "newbies" going. Come be one of my newbies. You can thank me later.

BTW: There is a wonderful indoor headed pool so bring your bathing suit. Western attaire is popular but not required.
