The Department of Business & Industry (B&I) is holding a Thanksgiving food drive beginning on Monday, November 10, to help needy families during the Thanksgiving holiday.

“There are many people in Nevada who are struggling to get by,” said Director Dianne Cornwall. “As the holidays approach, we hope to help fill the cupboards of people in need and show our support of communities throughout the State.”

Canned and boxed food is being collected at the following locations:

Donations will be accepted during business hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, starting Monday, November 10, through Thursday, November 20, 2008.  To distribute the donated items, B&I is partnering with HELP of Southern Nevada (HELP) in the south and Friends in Service Helping (FISH) in the north.  The food collected will be distributed by HELP and FISH to struggling Nevadans during Thanksgiving week.
